Pirates trade: Jeff Locke, John Jaso, Michael Morse, and PTBNL

Yankees trade: Mark Teixeira, Nate Evoladi, and LOTS OF $$$$$$$$$! CASH! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$


This clears the way for the future if Greg Bird.
This adds a right-hander to even out the Pittsburgh rotation.
This puts Tex in a position where he can produce again and not be haunted by being a backup.

If not the door is already open for him next season as Texieria is in the final year of his contract. And like the Jerk said this is wouldn't land the Pirates Eovaldi.

The Pirates also have Josh Bell coming up this year not to mention Nick Kingham, Jameson Taillon, and Tyler Glasnow coming up the next two years to join Francisco Liriano and Gerrit Cole in the rotation. Also Neal Huntington would never in a million years take on a contract like Texiera's especially while trying to extend McCutchen and Polanco.

Well I think they don't mind having him for the final year of the contract. They really don't have much of an option right now. With Bird being out for the year. Morse would be a huge downgrade.
