Astros trade Jon Singleton and low level prospect to Cubs for Dan Volgalbatch, this makes sense since Volgalbatch is a power hitter who does not swing and miss as much as Singleton, the Astros can platoon Him with Reed or start him over Reed or vise versa, either way the Astros get a better first baseman.

Why would the Cubs do this? It's nonsense. Granted, Vogelbach isn't the next Will Clark, but he's worth a heck of a lot more than Singleton+. Please.

Because Singlton is more MLB ready than Vogalbatch, and Vogalbatch has no place on the Cubs since he is blocked by Rizzo and Boglabatch could go in and help at 1st and DH. That was my reasoning for this.

Where exactly would Singleton play on the Cubs? outfield is full. and they have this guy at first I don't know if you know him, but his name is Anthony Rizzo. So Sull, like usual your trade makes no sense what so ever.

The problem comes from the Cubs side of this equation as it does nothing to address a need for the Cubs. It is a very one-sided deal and not something the brain-trust in Chicago would contemplate. Sorry.

I mean is it going to happen, probably not. But Singleton wouldn't start over Rizzo obviously, he would be a backup for Rizzo, it is the one thing that Cubs don't have on their team, it is a backup 1st baseman, because Vogalbatchb would be better suited as a DH role and the Cubs being a NL team there is no DH and when they play an AL team away and need a DH they have a guy named Schwarber, who would move to DH and then Solar would take over in LF.

Singleton is not that good of a hitter. He has occasional power but no consistency. I don't see the trade helping either team.
