This would be a win-now move for the Sox, and a build-for-the-future trade for the Padres. That said, the basis works.

However, the salaries alone make this undoable. The Sox would have to take on a lot of money. That's why Boston has been trying to push Pablo Sandoval on the Friars.

As stated, the Sox would need some incentive to take on the money.

The Padres fleeced the Red Sox for Craig Kimbrel, you don't think they'll ask for a bigger return for Kemp + Shields?

It'll be something along the lines of Sandoval (for salary balance) and at least one top Red Sox prospect NOT named Moncada.

I know that Poblo isn't playing well but we need him, he will be back starting at 3rd next season when Shaw shifts over to first and Hanley to DH so we don't need Solarte (even though it would be nice to have him) I would much rather have Panda over Solarte.

That's my opinion anyways.

Owens will be a key price in the rotation in a few years once Clay is gone, and Rusney will be fine and will get back on the horse soon, just trust me.
