If SEA is above 500 or @ 500 around June, they need to get Jay Bruce. He can slot into RF and also DH when Cruz goes to right. Edgar Martinez can help Bruce on cutting down his K/ O rate.

Pink, Bruce is a lefty power hitter, and would fit much better in other places such as Baltimore, Yankee Stadium, or Cleveland.

So you give up a 22 year old shortstop who has potential as well as one of your best prospects in a already very weak farm system for an older outfielder an older shortstop and a starter that they do not need. The only player that has no real spot on the Mariners or is a key future piece in this deal is Seth Smith.
