A couple trade ideas from rebuilding teams:

#1
Dodgers get: Ryan Braun (and take on his entire contract)
Brewers get: Pedro Baez, Carlos Frias, Jharel Cotton, low-level minor leaguer

Brewers get pitching in return for Braun, but Dodgers keep major prospects by taking on the remainder of Braun's contract.

#2

Blue Jays get: Freddie Freeman + remainder of 2016 salary
Braves get: Anthony Alford, Max Pentecost, Jonathan Harris

Blue Jays get a legit 1B and his 2016 covered. They could afford to keep him when at least of one of Bautista/ Encarnacion walk. Braves get higher upside prospects to build with.

#3

Royals get: Julio Teheran
Braves get: Cheslor Cuthbert, Kyle Zimmer, Jorge Bonifacio

Royals get an upgrade at SP, Braves get Cuthbert, who is extremely underrated and 2 decent prospects who could help out really soon in ATL.

#4

Rays get: Trevor Plouffe
Twins get: Taylor Guerrieri, Justin O'Conner

Rays could use Plouffe at 1B and get Morrison out of there. Twins get two prospects for an 18-month rental of Plouffe.

Not bad for Minnesota. Getting a catching prospect is a plus.

I'll admit, looking at it now, I don't think the Blue Jays are giving up enough for Freeman.

Braves pass on the freeman deal. I think more needs to be going to Atlanta.

Like I said, as I thought about it more, I realized it wasn't enough.

Toronto is one of the teams that a) could use Freeman and b) could afford Freeman.

Another outfielder to the Dodgers?

He's a better option than Carl Crawford. Much better.
