Harper would appreciate the support, for sure.

What happens to Ryan Zimmerman?

Nationals are not trading Gialito.

Especially not for a guy with a huge contract.

Why not sull? They offered him for Miller last year. So they were obviously willing to trade him.

It's decent, but nobody would take a contract like Cabrera's. Nationals don't need him, either.

The differnce is Miller is an elite reliever, Cabrera still has over 200 million owed to him for the next 7 years. Plus he is 33 and will need to DH sometime in the near future. Last I checked the Nationals are in the NL where there is no DH. You don't give up a top prospect like Giolito for something like that.

I'm not saying they will give up Giolito for Cabrera. i'm saying that they are willing to trade him.

Giulito was not offered to the Yankees for miller if he was miller would be a nat,
Yankees wanted him but Nats send no.

Actually you have that backwards, the Nationals offered Giolito for Miller straight up. Yankees said no, they wanted more in return.

I disagree. I think the Nationals know their window of opportunity is small, with Harper getting closer to free agency, and Strasburg's health ever so fragile. Bringing in a big gun such as Miggy is a powerful statement, especially when you consider they play in the same league as a young team that just won the World Series.

Ok, the big question is where will Cabrera play? He is a first baseman at this point in his career. Eventually needing to become a DH. Last I checked Ryan Zimmermann is the 1st baseman right now. He can't go back to 3rd base because of his shoulder injuries of the past. Cabrera has no place on the Nationals.

If the Nationals acquired Cabrera, he would take Zimmerman's spot. Actually, I would imagine Zimmerman goes to Detroit in an offset of salaries.

But it's funny that anyone would think Zimmerman would start over Cabrera. They'd just bench the poor sap.

I would imagine that he would be moved. Just wanted the poster to make that clear, which he hasn't.

I don't think it demands clarification that Cabrera would displace Zimmerman.

One could naturally deduct that they would trade him, cut him, or bench him.
