Padres trade Buddy Reed, Jose Rondon, Brad Hand, and Logan Allen

White Sox trade Todd Frazier

then.

Padres trade Alex Dickerson, Yangervis Solarte, Austin Smith, and Nick Torres

Astros trade Alex Bregman and Jon Singleton.

The Astros trade is terrible.

Both of these are terrible.

You're getting a top 10 prospect for what? A marginally decent 3B and a bunch of wild cards?

And then getting Frazier in return for nothing?

Man, A. J. Preller's idiocy is spilling out to his fans.

Well first off, the frazier trade they would be getting the #12,14, and 17 prospects from the padres system which is top 3 rated in baseball and a good left handed reliever who had a sub 3 era and is 26 years old.

For the Bregman trade, that was a bit of a stretch. I was thinking along the lines of Solarte used as a utility for them with Gourriel playing full time, Dickerson being a backup corner ofer/ 1b, smith a former 1st round comp pick who is #27 in their system, and torres their #24 prospect who hit 288 last season between AA and AAA.

After Preller got espinoza a top 15 prospect for Pomeranz who had 1 good first half of the season, i wouldn't put it past him to pull something off. Judging by your reactions this could be far fetched. But then again, i am just as much an armchair GM as you are.

1. It's comical that you think a very good 3B can be had for prospects who aren't even in the top 10 of your own organization. He won't. I promise you, it'll take a serious return. This is a laughable return, and the White Sox would do just that, laugh at you.

2. Calling the Bregman trade "a bit of a stretch", while honest, is a massive understatement. It's by far the worst serious trade I've seen on here this week.

3. Please quit citing previous trades from Preller as means to justify your shitty trade ideas. Pomeranz was acquired at mid-season and has team control left. Keep in mind, almost every trade that Preller has made has been terrible and has left the Padres in a terrible position.

4. Don't insult me by comparing me to you. I don't compare you to my pet ducks.

Haha i am sorry, let me know when you get hired by a MLB team. Or have anything to do with the MLB in general besides a website where people post ideas. The fact that you would have pet ducks makes you more laughable.

And how has he put the padres in a terrible position? if anything he has built a stronger farm system and depth at most positions all while building the major league team through young talent for the future.

The ends don't justify the means, Gpack. The reason they are rebuilding is because of what kind of rubbish show Preller has been running.

Trading for Matt Kemp. Trading for Justin Upton. Signing James Shields. Not moving Tyson Ross when he should have. Trading away Turner and Joe Ross. Losing the respect of probably every GM in baseball after the Colin Rea return.

Yes, they somewhat rebuilt. But they never needed to. And yet, here they are, with very few moveable assets, total crap for a team, and only a few minor significant pieces who we can reasonably expect to be useful in the next 2-3 years. Add this with the fact that every other team in the West has gotten stronger in the same span that Preller has ruined the Padres, I bet it's a decade or more before the Padres are good again.

And they'll probably be good again before you get a clue, so there's that.

'You think that it's funny?
Just wait until they're coming!
Don't you know birds of a feather murder together? '

I think I'd rather see some trade "ideas" from the ducks.

I live on a farm.

And Gpack, which is more laughable, my choice in domesticated animals or your complete lack of intelligence and attempt to justify it?

Well I'm a little late to this party but these are awful. Gpack, the Padres don't have one of the top 3 farm systems in baseball, they aren't even in the top 10. I wouldn't give up that much for Todd Frazier who only can seem to hit on occasion and usually just a home run. To say the Bregman trade was a stretch is laughable, its not even a fathomable trade. If they should trade Bregman, who was one of the top prospects in baseball before getting called up, they could get a much better return than that. it is sad you praise Preller for the Pomeranz trade considering he was investigated for that trade for withholding medical info on him and got suspended for it. Preller is a crazy idiot. He put the Padres in a bad spot two offseasons ago when he traded the farm away and probably should have been fired for it when it went south.
