O's off-season

Trade
O's trade: Brach
Dodgers trade: Alex Wood, Walker Buehler
O's cash in on Brach who was an all star and get 2 young controllable pitcher
Dodgers add depth to that bullpen without giving up a top prospect, and clear up a rotation space.

O's trade: Gallardo plus 2M
Phillies trade: Jimmy Cordero
O's get a potential closer and shed Gallardos contract for this season
Phillies add an innings eater, and a guy who can be good, plus it's basically a rental with the O's sending the 2M for the buyout after next season if the Phillies don't trade him at the deadline.

Signings
Fister 2/ 21
Carlos Gomez 3/ 36 with mutual option for third year 2M buyout
Matt Holiday 1/ 12
Travis Wood 3/ 24 with mutual option for third year 1.5M buyout
Avila 1/ 5.5

Rotation
Gausman
Tillman
Bundy
Alex Wood
Fister

Positions
C: Avila
1B: Davis
2B: Schoop
SS: Hardy
3B: Machado

In my opinion this is a 93-95 win team and could finish first in the AL East.

I don't think they would trade one of the best members of their bullpen for another average starter.

Maybe more needs to go to Baltimore but 2 years ago Wood had a 4WAR he hasn't been very healthy since but if he can be healthy he'd be a very solid and not average arm, plus add in the fact that he's under control until 2020 makes him even more valuable.

Hellickson accepted Phils QO, no need for Gallardo, especially for Cordero at this point. O's are kind of in a tough spot I think. Tear it down or keep trying to tread water and stay competitive. They have some nice pieces actually to try to fill the farm back up with.

Kind of hard to finish with a record that adds up to 188 games.

Timmber do you not realize that the Phillies rotation is still extremely young? Last year they had Hellickson and Morton. Makes sense for them to have 2 innings eaters on basically 1 year deals that they can trade at the deadline if they really wanted to. And the O's definitely aren't treading water, they have one of the best bullpens and one of the best lineups imo. Depending on their additions they could be the 3rd or 4th best team in the AL.

He is saying that he thinks they could win between 93-95 games. That wouldn't be the actual record CS16.
