I just saw that the Astros are going to sign Beltran. I was really hoping that the Red Sox would grab him, I just hope that this doesn't mean we are going to sign Napoli or Joey Bats. But maybe the Beltran signing benefits the Red Sox.

Now with Beltran in the fold, Gattis has no real spot on the team, unless they for some reason keep him as a bench bat, and what does Huston need more than anything else, starting pitching.

Boston gets: Gattis

Huston gets: Pomerantz

Boston does this because they get their Ortiz replacement who is young as well, and they have depth I say they give Brian Johnson a shot at the final rotation spot if this trade happens, I also think the Sox would be smart to trade Pomerantz now because they don't know if he can repeate his success that made him an all star so trade him now when he has good value.

What Astros: because they need pitching and Pomerantz give them a good number three or a great number four depending on where Keuchel, McHugh, and McCullers all end up. And like I said above Gattis has no real spit on the team with McCann Beltran Reddick Aoki Springer in the fold. And by next year when Beltran is a FA again they will have prospects ready to replace both him and Gattis.

What do you guys think?

Personally, I don't think Houston would do this.

You know what I meant, other than that what do you think about the trade itself,

Maybe it isn't Pomerantz sent to the Astros, but someone like Swihart maybe can be sent to the Astros. Maybe even a package of Swihart and Ownes for Gattis and a low level prospect.
