I that the Phillies could look at short term contracts in free agency or trade for pieces with 1-2 years left on a deal. Plus are looking for a veteran SP, bullpen help and an OF

Also the Tigers are looking to trade certain players with pricey contracts and get younger

I came up with 2 trades between the Phillies and Tigers

TRADE 1)
DET Gets:
SP Mark Appel (#10 mlb. com PHI prospect)
1B Rhys Hoskins (#12 mlb. com PHI prospect)
OF Dylen Cozens (#6 mlb. com PHI prospect)

PHI Gets:
SP Anibal Sanchez
OF JD Martinez

Saves the Tigers $27.55 million and gets 3 future pieces that can contribute (appel replaces Pelfrey, Hoskins potentially replaces Victor and Cozens replaces JD)

This gives the Phillies 3 pieces that help at positions of need and all are on 1 year deals so it won't hurt long term.

The other trade involves Anibal Sanchez instead of pelfrey and lowe. With Sanchez, he can rebound with the Phillies and be a key in the rotation and is on a 1 year deal with a club option. Sanchez and JD together saves the Tigers $27.55 million.

Which trafe would be better. The 3 prospects have a fairly high ceiling but also carries risk.
