Rays aren't giving up their future. The rays wouldn't do this, and as a fan, I wouldn't think it's good for the rays.

Aren't the Rays sort of rebuilding? This wouldn't be a process of rebuilding.

The rays don't really need quintana either. If they want to contend, they are better off spending their prospects on a bat.

Makes no sense for either team.

Makes total sense for the white sox. 3 bats with really high potential. They get someone to play 3rd in the long run and a future 1B. Also, M. Smith has a ton of upside with his tools. And there were reports that TB was interested. A controllable pitcher that would give them a top 5 MLB staff. They want controllable talent. Complete team rebuild wouldn't constitute a Wilson Ramos signing. Didn't PECOTA pick them to finish second in the east? They are not in a total rebuild.

Chi Sox, you are right. I stand corrected. It makes sense for your team.

But, it makes no sense at all for Tampa. The Rays have struggled to generate runs for years, and those three guys have some potential.

The Rays also have plenty of SP, with Archer, Cobb, Odorizzi, Snell, Andriese, Erasmo and Honeywell on hand.

The first 3 guys you mentioned are legit. The rest are very questionable - at least for 2017. Archer is a #2 in a contending rotation. Some in the league believe that when you have a strong suit, like the Rays pitching, you should try to make that strong suit even stronger.

It's not like I see Q going to Tampa, I just think if they did end up making a push for him, this would be the return.
