So it is basically Trout for the Phillies farm system and the Hererea Altherr and Pivetta, the few very young players that have made it up to the Majors already and are doing very well. I am surprised you didn't decide to throw in Franco while you were at it because that would basically be the Phillies future for Trout. I do think Trout would bring a lot in return but this I think is too much. And even if this is what it would take to get Trout I hope the Phillies would be smart enough to say no. Plus everyone is saying the Angles should trade Trout because he is just waiting away on the Angles team, he would be even more of a waist on a Phillies team that would be decimated after that trade. This is why I don't think I will ever see someone like Trout or someone with his kind of value get traded because it would cost a team so much to get him that they would be better off without him.

My opinion: Overpay by Phillies. I think they could scale it down to four or five guys - Odubel Herrera, Pivetta, Nola, Crawford and Franco for Trout and a prospect or two.

That said, LA has said they won't deal him. But, to me, trading him for a king's ransom makes the most sense.

I still say the Yankees' deep pockets and healthy farm system line up perfectly for a deal.

Quality over quanity.

So the Phillies give away all the young talent they built up to become what they were before they had all that young talent?

Makes sense.

So you want the Phillies to basically become what the Angels are now? Trout with a few good players and no farm system depth. No team would do that.
