Trade:
To NYY: SP Gerrit Cole & RP AJ Schugel & 3B/1B David Freese and/or 1B/OF Jose Osuna

To PIT: OF Clint Frazier & SS/2B Tyler Wade

Juan Nicasio RP has given up ZERO homeruns a 9.8 K/9 with a 1.3 WHIP. Who can get out leftys and rightys with a BAA of .235 and eats innings and the yankees bullpen can use that to get to the 2 headed dragon they have.

David Freese and/or Jose Osuna both have the ability to play 1B which solves the yankees problems. David Freese is a WS MVP and more productive then Headley. Jose Osuna has power just needs at bats, easily a 25 homer guy especially in the AL east.

Tyler Wade doesn't have a chance to play for the yankees with there middle INF hitting right now and Gleyber Torres.

I know I messed up but the trade was suppose to have Juan Nicasio not AJ Schugel.

That return is extremely light for a pitcher of Gerrit Cole's caliber, I understand he hasn't been lights out this year but he's still an above average pitcher.

And you're also throwing in a RP and 3B David Freese while both are not elite players they are still useful major leaguers.

I do think NYY makes minor upgrades to starting pitching and bullpen (like McCarthy deal in 2014). Not a knock against Cole or Freese, I just don't see NYY making a "splashy" move this year.

This is horrible. I don't think the Pirates are going to trade Cole, if they did it would be alone and they would get a big return, not what you suggested.

Bigbird, the Bucs could very well trade Cole. That said, I doubt they'd ask for an OF in return, as they have Marte, Polanco, McCutchen and Frazier at the MLB level now, and Austin Meadows waiting for a job opening.
