Take Cabrera bc he is not needed. And the Yankees would be silly to trade Hicks given Ellsbury’s injury history. Duda and Reed for Sheffield would be something that could happen.

AJ620. The yankees have 2 top outfield prospects to replace Hicks. They are going to want to sell high on him. Yankees really need a left handed power 1B and bullpen help for playoffs.

This works because Hicks is out for a while and Yanks can use depth in OF especially with Ellsbury's health.
Yanks have prospects to replace Hicks and Nets need a cf for next year and beyond.
Mets need a C. Romaine is buried behind Sanchez.

Selling high on someone and throwing him into a trade are two different things. The Yankees are giving up way too much for 3 impending FA at the end of the year. Their OF prospects aren’t hitting 290 with 10 HR this year. It would be silly to trade him during a career year.
