A cross town trade idea involving the mets and Yankees.

Yankees would receive SP Matt Harvey

Mets would receive, 3B Miguel Andujar, 1B Tyler Austin and P Jordan Montgomery.

Why I think it's a good idea:

1. Andujar is a highly regarded prospect and could be the mets future long term 3B option.

2. Montgomery can fill right into mets rotation. Harvey needs a fresh start.

3. Yankees will sign Otani and give the Yankees a nice rotation of Tanaka, severino, Harvey, otani and resign sabathia

You forgot about Gray in the rotation. Harvey has a little to no trade value right now. Nobody wants his injury history and off the field problems. If he was still a cy young caliber pitcher he would be worth the headaches but he hasn’t been for over two years. Yankees take a hard pass.

That's right gray too, what about switch Harvey with
Matz and add a prospect coming to the Yankees?

I don’t think the Yankees will be going after pitching this offseason outside of Ohtani because of his tremendous skill set, age, and affordability. Sabathia could be back on a one year deal for insurance as well but that’s about it. Let’s say they do sign both or even just one. That leaves you with Severino, Tanaka, Gray, Ohtani, Montgomery, Sabathia, and Chance Adams is just about big league ready with Justus Sheffield not far behind. Guys like Luis Cessa and Bryan Mitchell provide depth. Then you throw in Domingo Acevedo and Albert Abreu who just tore up the Arizona Fall League. Also guys that like Dillon Tate and Jorge Guzman have high upside. I really don’t think the Yankees would be interested in one of the Mets injury prone starters. Particularly Harvey and Matz who haven’t been all that good when healthy in recent years.
