The addition of some good offensive players, as well as the improvement of outfield defense (with Dyson), will help improve this club from their disastrous 2017. Unless the star align and everyone is playing on top of their game, this club will likely only win between 77-83 games, and miss the postseason.

The pirates trade is horrendous.

Yeah, not a chance in hell the Giants get McCutchen that cheap.

McCutchen is on a 1 year deal worth $14.5 MM, the Pirates aren't contending, and his provides little value defensively. He won't be an expensive player to acquire.

You realize the Giants probably can't get a 4th OF for that package, right?

SFG fan I don't think you understand that trades have a human element too if you think Cutch would go for that little. For starters McCutchen is worth more than that base on production and history, but besides that the front office would get crucified by the fan base if they game up the face of the franchise for nothing. He means an unbelievable amount to the fans. They asked for Robles and Good Gonzalez AND another prospect from Washington last year and had a much better 2017 than 2016. The trade wouldn't have come close based on his on-field production and is miles and miles away from what it would cost when you take into account what he means to the franchise.
