Dominic Smith, Andres Jimenez and Brando Nimmo
For
Goldschimdt

If mets are serious about winning in July and diamondbacks are not in contention. This make sense. Gonzalez's great play would factor in decision.

So let me get this straight Goldschmidt to the Mets if they are in contention? Ok, what if the D-backs are in contention? They aren't going to trade their starting first baseman. Plus that is not even a good return for him.

Bat, it says right in the post this is if the Mets are in contention and if the D'Backs are not in contention. That said, I don't think this is a deal that will get it done. I like Nimmo, especially as a part time player, but Smith has done nothing but disappoint until now. Also, as good as Goldy is, they might not need to make a move for him if Gonzalez is playing like he is right now. and if the Mets are in a position to make this trade, he more than likely is. If anything, I see them needing to add pitching or a middle infielder when deadline time comes.

I see that, but it doesn't make sense for the Diamondbacks, its not like they are going to have a knee jerk reaction to not being in contention and begin a rebuild, especially for a lackluster package.

Even out of contention, this is comically bad.

Goldschmidt is the best 1B in baseball and has a ridiculously team-friendly deal. The Mets would be banned from Chase Field for this offer.
