If Yanks want to get deGrom I think it's going to cost a a lot. But i think of all the playoff teams they need him most. They could also use If depth and catching help.

Is it worth it for the Yanks?

Yanks: get deGrom, Cabrera, Mesoroco

Mets get: Torres, Florial, Frazier, Sheffield and Abreu

These two are clearly the best fit for each other, and yet, they're very unlikely to get a deal done. Torres is not going to be on the table, and deGrom should fetch him. With the way Sanchez has been loafing it out of the box the last few games, it almost looks as if they've told him not to try to beat it out. Maybe his name is a possibility to move to Queens?

If torress is not in that deal I think you'd have to put andujar and dare I say maybe sanchez?

I think they would rather put in Andujar. He's a nice prospect, but Torres looks special. Sanchez is his own situation. He's shown to be lazy, he's not a great defensive catcher, and his best tool (bat) is not working right now. But if you can get that bat to come back around and make him middle of the road as a catcher, that bat is a difference maker. If they move him, it would be now.

Frazier is also an interesting situation right now. He's as talented as you can imagine, but his head issues worry me. He's been out for concussions frequently, and he's having migraines right now too. I'm not sure how much that impacts his value. If I'm the Mets though, I think I take that package, but try to swap out Mesoraco for any of their other catchers.

As far as that being a lot to give up for a wild card team, they aren't too far behind the Sox (fingers crossed it stays that way! ), and even if they do wind up in the Wild Card game. now those teams need to have two aces more than ever. If you pitch Severino in that game, you'd now have deGrom for game 1 of the ALDS.
