That trade for Realmuto might be more laughable than anything bwright has suggested.

It's going to take a top 20 prospect to land Realmuto, who has turned himself into the best catcher in the majors.

Two top 100 prospects, and a young C with some pop. I disagree its "laughable" but it may take a little more. I think it would be centered around those two players and then Nido can become one to two more mid level prospects.

No, it's laughable.

For one, consider the fact the Mets and Marlins are in the same division. The Marlins aren't going to just let the Mets have him.

So consider that your return is already pathetically light for any team, and then add a premium for it being within the division.

Gimenez would need to be the second, or even third best player in that package. And the Mets don't have much else to offer.

It would take Rosario plus for Realmuto. He's arguable the best C in the game. Plus it's in division, as stated above, so that drives up the price even more.
