Clevinger is one of the best pitchers in baseball and still under team control for another 3 seasons.

Lindor is one of the best players in baseball and still under control for 2 seasons.

To get BOTH of them in a trade, I doubt you want to know the name of the player Cleveland will insist upon.

(I'll give you a hint: none of these players would headline that deal) .

I'll put it less cryptically: the Indians have insisted on BOTH Gavin Lux and Dustin May for just Francisco Lindor alone.

So, here's the "Trade for Lindor and Clevinger: Choose Your Own Adventure" Game.

You have to give up one of the following: Fernando Tatis, Jr. or Chris Paddack.

If Tatis, then:

Choose a complementary piece: Patino, Lucchesi, Trammell, Abrams, Lamet

If Paddack, then:

Choose at least TWO of the above complementary pieces.
PLUS choose one other add in: Campusano, Morejon, Naylor, Yates, Weathers, Potts.

In other words, it'll be a monstrous haul, and nothing close to the trade you've presented here.

Go to the chris sale trade, 2,4,8 prospects were dealt for 3 years of service. Lindor has 2 years of service so don’t even go there with the whole tatis or paddack will have to go. For Lindor only they’d be happy to get the padres 2 and maybe 5 prospect, if not lower. Get out of here with that stuff.

Ryeguy, I know they teaching reading in SoCal, so do yourself and read.

The trade wasn't just for Lindor. It was Lindor and Clevinger. That's going to require way, way more than anything you'd ever be comfortable. It's going to be a huge name, and almost undoubted a name that's already in an MLB uniform. Plus a couple of high prospects. The Indians would immediately look like they came out like bandits in the trade.

Also, I wouldn't be so damn sure of the Padres system. Their previous "Lindor trade guy" (Urias) was traded for a mediocre pitcher and a 4th OF. It doesn't seem that teams are all that impressed with some of the guys Padres fans love.

My point is that you would have said the same thing if the trade was only for Lindor . I know your way of talking, you’re the know it all who really knows nothing. Was just trying to prove a point that it wouldn’t take that much to land Lindor like everyone has been saying simply if you go back to the sale trade. I think they have an offer on the table that they’re considering, they just trying to squeeze just a little more from teams with the whole “send us your best offer” message.

You also insisted that Lindor could be had for Luis Urias, who was later traded for a really laughable return. So it's not evident that your evaluation of the Padres system is based on reality.

Look, I'm well aware that the Padres won't trade Paddack or Tatis. But if the Indians are demanding Lux AND May for just Lindor, I'm not sure the Padres have a package of minor leaguers that really matches that if it doesn't include one of those two.

And you keep saying to go back to the Chris Sale trade. You realize that took the #1 prospect in baseball, right? I mean, the above package doesn't even have the Padres #1 prospect (Gore) . And the Indians have far less reason to move Lindor than the White Sox had to trade Chris Sale. The demand will be astronomical, and rightly so.

None of this matters. The Padres won't trade for Lindor.

That would mean A. J. Preller doesn't get to use Profar at 2B, and the hard-on Preller has for that guy is apparent. Profar is the Padres' second baseman.
