Ok so the mariners have four priorities this winter:

1-Find a power bat for the outfield
2-find a number 3 pitcher until the youngsters develop
3-find a true lead off hitter to relief some stress of miller
4-Find a dh

So heres an idea:

-Sign Ubaldo Jimenez to a 4 year contract for about 14-16m a year

-Resign Kendrys Morales to a 3 year deal for 36m

-Make two trades:

Sea-Det

Seattle recieves:OF Austin Jackson, P Rick Porcello

Detroit recieves: P Carter Capps, P Lucas Luetge, 2B/Of Dustin Ackley, SS/3B Stephen Romero

(Detroit cuts salary to go and get ellesbury, and gets some bullpen help)

Sea-Mia

Seattle gets: OF Giancarlo Stanton, mid level prospect

Miami gets: LHP Danny Hultzen, LHP James Paxton, 2B Chris Taylor, RP Tyler Pike, C Tyler Marlette

(Miami gets two future pitchers to put behind Fernandez in the rotation and get some good piece for the future)

2014 Seattle mariners:
1-CF Austin Jackson
2-2B Nick Franklin
3-3B Kyle Seager
4-RF Giancarlo Stanton
5-DH Kendrys Morales
6-1B Justin Smoak
7-LF Abraham Almonte
8-C Mike Zunino
9-SS Brad Miller

Rotation:
1-Felix Hernandez
2-Hishashi Iwakuma
3-Ublado Jimenez
4-Rick Porcello
5-Taijuan Walker

i know the Stanton one is a little far-fetched but if they can't reach a contract extension before string training, there going to want to get something for him before he walks after arbitration.

Stanton won't happen. And that is just way to much for the erratic Jimenez.

2.) 29 Oct 2013
Stanton will be traded eventually. It will probably be to Seattle too. Miami will get blown away by an offer and have to take it.

3.) 29 Oct 2013
Why does every Mariners proposal involve getting rid of the Capps guy? Does the fanbase really hate this guy?

4.) 29 Oct 2013
Thats actually a fair stanton trade. one of the rare ones i've ever seen.

5.) 29 Oct 2013
So you think Stanton will go from constantly rebuilding to a constantly offensive challenged team in the West and before gotten about like most guys are when they go west.

6.) 29 Oct 2013
And why would the Tigers make that trade for garbage, when you didn't even include Furbush?

7.) 29 Oct 2013
Why do people think that Jackson is going to be traded? Because of his postseason? I think it would be ridiculous if that was the reason. Many guys have terrible postseasons, but that doesn't mean they should be traded. And I don't think Seattle is going to get Stanton.

8.) 29 Oct 2013
Why? Why? Why? Why?

Why MUST Miami trade Stanton?

And why MUST it be to Seattle?

Sure, they have prospects, but Stanton is cheap for now and under control for multiple seasons. He's the only offensive force they have that will get anyone in that ballpark.

I'm not to sure about the Mariners resigning Morales. If the Angels loose Trumbo, they will probably look back to him so he can fill Trumbo's place.
