Is there any way the Yankees can acquire Max Scherzer from the Tigers? I have been hearing rumors the Yankees and Tigers are discussing a Ichiro for Scherzer deal and others would likely be involved. Anyone know if this is true?

I really don't think the Tigers would give up a guy who only had one loss last year for a 40 year old hitting. 260

2.) 30 Mar 2014
Tigers are keeping him there likely to win the division they need him

3.) 30 Mar 2014
I don't thinks so. I feel the Yankees system is too weak. And Ichiro is too overworked for him to be a centerpiece.

I heard the same crazy rumor. But I really don't think its possible. I mean they would have to give up someone like Nova as well and possibly Nunez and several minor leaguers. I just don't see a deal revolving Ichiro for Schrezer happening.

It will take a lot for the Yankees to get Scherzer, but considering Mad Max is a free agent at the end of the season, not as much as some might think. But, the Tigers would have to have a SP in return, and the Yankees have none to spare.

^^"they're likely".

7.) 31 Mar 2014
If I recall they had 4 guys vying for the fifth rotation spot. So they do have SP's to spare.

8.) 31 Mar 2014
Whats likely?

9.) 01 Apr 2014
Those guys vying for the fifth SP spot in the rotation were all rubbish.

10.) 01 Apr 2014
For a possible trade, the Yankees have little that Detroit would want. No way.

11.) 01 Apr 2014
If the Tigers toss in Brett Gardner and Ivan Nova, plus a minor league C, then it's a maybe.

12.) 01 Apr 2014
Vidal Nuno could be included

13.) 02 Apr 2014
If the Tigers throw in cash considerations this work

Why would the Tigers throw in any cash when they are trading their best (or 2nd best) pitcher to THE YANKEES?
