Reds get Denard Span

Nationals get Mike Leake


Span can play left field for the Reds. He got on base at a 355 clip last year which is exactly what the Reds want. The Nationals get a guy who can eat innings. And they would boast one the best rotations in baseball. Both players are in their walk years.

While I agree that Span could play LF, I don't see this trade happening due to the finances. Trading Leake for Span would be a wash as far as payroll goes and I don't think that what the Reds are looking for

Also Span led the league in hits I don't think they will trade him for a year of leake
