Phillies Offseason

If I'm the Phillies I'm acting now before my players lose the little value they have left. The only way this team has a shot to contend in the next 10 years is by moving their players now!

Hamels, Utley, Lee and Byrd will net a decent return. Here is what I would do.

Hamels to CHC for Schwarber, Edwards and Alcantara.

Lee to BOS for Craig and Ranaudo

Utley to SF for Susac and Ysla

Byrd to TEX for Knebel and Brinson.

They load up on prospects who can make an impact soon.

I doubt Utley will waive his NTC.

Hamels to the Cubs is not out of the realm of possibilities. But there are certainly better offers for him. The Cubs can't trade Schwarber yet. I think they should offer other prospects than you suggested.
Lee won't get you a big return yet, not with his elbow problems last year. He could be traded in the middle of the season when he proves he's healthy.
Utley can bring a good return. But I doubt that he would waive his no trade clause and has said he won't.

Aj, all of those are feasible; it remains to be seen if the Phils will deal those guys.

As a Phils fan I would like any of these except Utley. We do not want to lose him. The player we want dumped is Howard though.
