THE TIGERS NEED TO GET BETTER AND NOW THAT THEY ARE BUYERS, I THINK THEY SHOULD SHOCK BASEBALL AGAIN AND GET A PLAYER NOONE THOUGHT THEY WOULD GET LIKE LAST YEAR WHEN THEY GOT PRICE FROM THE RAYS

I THINK WE CAN GET A TOP PITCHER LIKE HAMELS OR SHIELDS, i'd PERFER HAMELS AS he's A LEFTY AND CAN BE THE PITCHER WHO COULD REPLACE PRICE IF HE don't GET TRADED AND LEAVES IN FREE AGENCY AND ALSO GO AND GET ZOBRIST WHO CAN HELP ALL OVER AND ALSO BULLPEN PITCHER LIKE CHAPMAN OR KIMBREL

I THINK WE CAN DO IT ALL (WE MAY NOT HAVE THE TOP PROSPECTS THAT MOST THINK BUT THAT SAME PROSPECT RANKS GOT PRICE AND SORIA LAST YEAR AND BOTH HAVE WORKED OUT WELL FOR THE TIGERS

DET - PHI - CIN

TIGERS GETS:
SP COLE HAMELS (PHI)
RP AROLDIS CHAPMAN (CIN)

PHILLIES GETS:
SP MIKE LEAKE (CIN)
SP BUCK FARMER (#7) (DET)
RP BRUCE RONDON (DET)
IF DIXON MACHADO (#5) (DET)
OF STEVEN MOYA (#1) (DET)

REDS GETS:
SP KEVIN ZIOMEK (#3) (DET)
RP ANGEL NESBITT (#9) (DET)
RP IAN KROL (DET)
C ALEX AVILA (DET)
RP JONATHAN PAPELBON + $10 million (PHI)

TIGERS get the pitcher they need if price is not on the team next year (which is most likely) and he's controllable for the following 3 years at a price that could be at least $5 million less then price would be in that span and they also get chapman who can bolster the bullpen and move soria to SU with rondon spot open

PHILLIES get leake who replaces hamels in the rotation and they also get a young starter in farmer who can contribute now, rondon who can help as a SU with giles going to closer and they get a young 2B/SS in machado who can eventually replace Utley and they also get moya who can start now with brown and revere

REDS get a young SP in ziomek who can replace leake in the rotation who can even do it this year, nesbitt who can be in the bullpen this year, krol who can also help, avila who can help at catcher along with pena since mesoraco is out for awhile and then get papelbon who they also get 10 million who ends up being about 3/5 of his remaining contract

TIGERS ROTATION
1) LH PRICE
2) LH HAMELS
3) RH VERLANDER
4) RH SANCHEZ
5) RH SIMON

this would be the rotation if price stays and if he does stay I would think a 6 year $150,000,000 with a player opt out after the 3rd year would entice price

The Tigers are 11.5 games out of first in the Central, 4 games behind in the wild card, and 2 games under .500, you have to be living in a dream world if you think you are buyers! Selling now would be the smart choice, get something out of impending free agents before it just turns into a draft pick. A trade like that would hurt the tigers more in the long run. Your killing the farm that is already week. don't BECOME THE PHILLIES!! BE SMART!

What would the Reds do with Papelbon and why would the Phillies get Leake if both teams are in the rebuilding process. Just makes absolutely 0 sense

Stop yelling!

And this is terrible.

Tigers are clearly sellers. I don't know what you've been watching, but its pretty awful. And their farm system is good enough to pull off a big trade, its ranked 30th overall by Bleacher Report. Price and Cespedes are clearly going to be traded.

I agree the TIgers shouldbe sellers including selling Ausmus. But its not in their DNA and I think that Ilitch is still going to want to go for it based on his history. I would love for them to sell off all of their impending FA's but I don't trust DD to get the right prospects in return. OVer the last two years he has missed on prospect deals vs. acquiring MLB talent. If you sell Price you sell him to the Dodgers and you get on of their four top prospects. Oh and include the bumbling third basemen in any move to increase the talent you will receive in return.

So the Tigers are giving away basically all 10 of their top prospects for 2 players? Get real.

Thats not nearly enough for Hamels and Chapman, maybe not even 1. I mean there's not even a top 100 lol.

They should be sellers but Ausmus recently stated he thinks they should be buyers. ESPN also seems to have at least one person a night saying the same thing. Then there's Dombrowski who keeps saying that they're not sellers yet.

sorry about the caps. my computer is acting up but I got it fixed

the tigers are always known to buy while with a winning record or losing record and dombrowski should've been fired before this season in my mind (im a huge tigers fan) but he is a smart GM (smart enough to be a candidate for commissioner) and I think as always has something up his sleeve

last year, no one thought the tigers would do anything outside of soria, but we got price for a low offer (Jackson, smyly and adams) and its working out for the tigers big time so far so the farm system/young players in the majors can fetch the big guys like hamels, kimbrel or champman and in your eyes they may not but the tigers always find a way to trade from that horrible farm system to get top talent

the last time the tigers sold at the deadline was when they did a stupid trade, Farnsworth for pudge and I was mad enough to throw my radio in the water cause pudge is what helped the tigers get back into contention and if we trade price, its for top prospects, maybe twice as much as the cueto deal in terms of talent and I feel as well as other tigers fans think they can come back and like a few years ago, the royals traded top prospects for a rental I shields and that didn't turn out well

the royals are a young team but that young team are free agents within the next 2 years and I doubt the player would stay on that team past the 2 years (hosmer most likely is staying)

I think the tigers still have a chance to win the division, last year the tigers were nearly at the same lead at this time of year and it came down to the last game and I think the tigers can do that, if they buy (keep price and extend him if we can) and give him a 6 year $150,000,000 deal with a player opt out after the 3rd year (kind of like the grienke deal) but I do also agree that it may be smart to sell also but for major league ready players that can help us this year and even win this year but its up in the air with me

trade price for top prospects to help our farm system
OR
keep price, extend him to a deal he can't refuse and go all in

Why would the Phillies take Mike Leake?

If you think Smyly and Jackson was a low cost for David Price, you're nuts.

Young, controllable MLB-ready pieces are always better in trades than prospects.

Jables, ESPN really? Never trust what they say. They have so little baseball coverage that its just better to get info from MLB Network. I don't get why Buster Olney and Tim Kirkjiun haven't joined MLB Network yet.
