I agree with statbook, that Frazier alone would not net those three. Smoak is a journeyman having a career year, Liriano is looking like he should be released, and Carrera is a fourth OF. What am I missing?
Here's what you guys are missing. Frazier is a highly regarded prospect, as are Tate and Adams. If the Yankees deal those guys, they'd want Jose Quintana and Jose Abreu back in return, not these three bums.

I wouldn't trade Frazier and Adams for a guy who only has this year as being good, And I don't think they need Carrara since they have plenty of OF depth.

Have to agree with statbook.
Travis needs to prove he can stay healthy for a full year to increase his value.
Carrera is a 4th outfielder and Reid-Foley has good reviews but is aways away from the bigs.
Might be cheaper for the Jays to get Yelich because Ozuna is under control for 3 more years I believe. Similar age and Yelich is a lefty bat.

Add in Dee Gordon, you're talking Aaron Sanchez and Richard Urena.
Toronto's top 3 prospects and a solid young pitcher. And this is still a light return.

Well I'm going to disagree that the 29 year old Gordon is going to come anywhere close to getting them Sanchez. And Guererro and Bichette might be the Jays only untouchables in the minors.
Long story short, not good trade partners.

I wouldn't say he's overrated because he is certainly a weapon on the bases but if you don't have a team that can hit with runners in scoring position (jays) then he's not that valuable.

Statbook, Ture but things are different this year.
1) If you trade for a rental you have lackey, arrietta, and the rental out of the rotation next year. Leaves 3 spots to fill this offseason.
2) Last year the cubs had one missing piece (barley), closer. This year they have so many areas of need that I don't think its likely Theo parts ways with a top 3/ 4 prospects for a rental for one position.
