Yankees-White Sox trade:

Yankees get: Todd Fraizer

White Sox get: Dillon Tate, Rob Refsnider and Mason Williams.

The Yankees need a boost at 3rd base even more than the Red Sox but that is just because they are atop the division. I think the Yankees should have never traded away Solarte because he would be great at the hot corner for them now. and even though they are in win now mode I think this offseason they will move on from guys like Ellsburry and Gardner and Holliday(can't remember if he signed a 1 or 2 year deal) as well as guys like Clippard and Sabathia and Headly and Layne. Even though they are doing ok for the most part they are either old or getting old and have big contracts so you might look to trade them to a contender who needs that one missing piece to complete the puzzle. They have guys like Tyler Austin who will be coming back from injury who will take Carters role and they have plenty of young OFs and INFs and pitching and you can always find RPs in FA. I know this is a lot but I think it would be smart for the Yankees to look into this. And by the way this is all coming from a Red Sox fan so I did my best trying to judge people's value in this trade so it might be a little lopsided but I tried my best

I actually love the match of the Todd-Father and Yankees but I really don't think the Sox get that much back. If Hahn got Tate straight up I would be satisfied.

2.) 10 Jun 2017 03:02:25
Sure, why not?

Cubs - Dodgers:

Cubs get: Kazmir

Dodgers get: Pierce Johnson

Why: This gives the Cubs that last rotation arm they need allowing Montgumery to function as the swing man in the bullpen who can make a spot start when needed. I feel like keeping him in the pen would be the best situation because that is where he did best last year. For the Dodgers this gives them a young arm that can slide right into the bullpen which is not a strong point other than Janson and this allows younger players like De Leon and others to make the opening day rotation.

It probably won't happen, but what do you guys think?

Rangers-Nats trade:

Nats get: Jeffers

Rangers get: Taylor, low level prospect

This gives the Nats the closer they need and it gives the Rangers the outfield help they need along with a lower level prospect.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 05 Jan 2017 15:52:29
Like I rated it, it is believable but I'm not sure how much the trade is needed by the rangers. The Rangers outfield is pretty decent and they don't want to give away a very closer. The Rangers, like the Nationals, are in win-now mode.

2.) 05 Jan 2017 16:01:42
Never really thought of him as a target for Nats but I do like that as a fit. However it will cost more to acquire him as he is good and under control for a few seasons.

3.) 05 Jan 2017 18:09:52
I like him or Doolittle for them, I thought they might try to get Rodney before he got signed but I feel like Jeffers and Doolittle would be good fits a an ok price.

4.) 05 Jan 2017 22:50:18
Michael Taylor is terrible why would the Rangers do this.

5.) 06 Jan 2017 01:46:18
Michael Taylor still has potential; alas, he is similar in skill set to DeShields, so there is no need for the Rangers to acquire him.

6.) 06 Jan 2017 03:21:35
He isn't awful but I didn't know what Jeffers value was so I put him in, he is a young outfielder who I thought you guys could use. Who do you guys think you could get for Jeffers from the Nats?

7.) 06 Jan 2017 17:29:59
"I didn't know what [Jeffress'] value was"

Perhaps read and then post?

White Sox-Blue Jays

White Sox get: Pompey, D. J Davis

Blue Jays get: Nate Jones

White Sox get a CF and an outfield prospect to continue what is looking like a short rebuild.

The Blue Jays have no need for Pompey with Pillar taking over and now they have Pearce and a platoon of Carrera and Upton Jr. And they get some much needed bullpen help in Nate Jones.

What do you think?

CS16

1.) 22 Dec 2016 14:59:03
Nate Jones is cheap and controllable for a while it's going to take a lot to get him and Pompey has been awful for multiple years so not even close.

2.) 22 Dec 2016 16:58:29
What about one of Robertson or Jones to the Mets for either Conforto or Nimmo?

16 Dec 2016 13:15:59
White Sox-Yankees trade:

White Sox get Mason Williams

Yankees get: Chris Beck PTBNL

This gives the White Sox a platoon parter for who ever else they have in center or I think he could win the job full time he just has no place to play with the outfield NYY has right now.

This gives the Yankees a solid young pitcher in Beck, the Yankees are said to be looking for young pitchers in trades this offseason, and this deal gets them one.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 16 Dec 2016 23:20:55
What's wrong with this proposal?

2.) 17 Dec 2016 15:45:50
Everything.

3.) 17 Dec 2016 16:20:38
Sull why do you find the most useless players to obsess over? Same with the little things, White Sox will have a guy that's actually good in Center and not some minor leaguer.

4.) 17 Dec 2016 16:33:05
Its a sull post, that's what's wrong with it. A young solid starter, Beck? I don't see anything solid about him, his numbers suck in the Majors and are mediocre in the Minors. He also has one start to his name in the majors.

5.) 18 Dec 2016 15:44:27
He is still young and has time to develop into a solid young pitcher is what I meant.

If the Brewers are not contending at the trade deadline, which is basically a certain, will they consider trading Thames? and If they do what could they get for him?

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 14 May 2017 05:36:47
no, he is signed for two more years at very team friendly deal.

2.) 14 May 2017 20:36:07
Yes exactly, that's my point, he has all four things going for him, 1. He is producing, 2. He is controllable, 3. He isn't expensive, 4. He isn't that old. With all those things the Brewers could get multiple top prospects for him I think and if I were the Brewers I would do it, they have Shaw already so he could play 1st and play Perez at 3rd and have Villar and Arcia up the middle. I think if they move him to a contender in need of a 1st baseman/ DH at the deadline and get multiple top prospects to speed up their rebuild they should jump on it.

3.) 17 May 2017 02:45:17
The Brewers won't trade Thames. They're in 2nd place right now, and they could be a surprise. Next year, they could be legit. I say they are keepers at the deadline, which means you don't buy, but you don't sell.

11 May 2017 13:45:19
Unfortunately for the Red Sox, this Kyle Kendricks experiment hasn't worked out well. Time to get rid of him and bring back up Johnson or even Ownes. Both of them should be better than Kendricks. They don't need to go out and acquire someone(at least not one that would cost a lot) because they still have Price on the DL and when he comes back we should be fine.

When Price comes back we will have a rotation of

Sale
Price
Porcello
Rodregez
Pomerantz

Then once everyone is heathy again our lineup will be

Betts RF
Padroia 2nd
Benitendi LF
Bogarts SS
Rameriz DH
Morland 1st
Bradley Jr. CF
Sandavol 3rd
Leon/Vasquez C

Young OF
Vasquez/Leon C
Holt UTL
Rutledge/Hernandez INF

Bullpen:
Scott/Taylor
Hembree
Ross Jr
Abad
Kelly
Barns
Kimbral

And at some point hopefully you could put Smith and Thornburg into the bullpen as well but I don't know when they will be back.

What do you guys think?

Dodgers lineup in a few years

1. Toels LF
2. Puig RF
3. Seager SS
4. Belinger 1st
5. Peterson CF
6. 3rd _____
7. Barns C
8. Calhoun 2nd
9. Pitcher

They are only missing a 3rd baseman and they won't have a hard time finding one in FA or trade for one or maybe even draft someone that speeds through the minors. They could also improve their catcher but Barns isn't bad either

Then they also got Urias

They are going to be scary good(still) but also younger and have more money to spend after the older guys and their contracts come off the books.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 04 May 2017 15:13:52
How can you disagree with this. It is pure fact.

2.) 04 May 2017 15:59:33
They signed Justin Turner to a 5-year deal this winter.

3.) 05 May 2017 04:27:34
Its hard to predict where players will end up in several years, several of the players may not even be on the dodgers in a few years. that is how it is disagreeable.

19 Jan 2017 18:47:23
I could see the White Sox adding someone like Hanigan on a 1 years deal. He is a great veteran presence and is a great defender and can really help their young pitchers develop. The White Sox aren't going anywhere this season not are they going any where the season after that so they should do everything they can to help develop their young guys and adding Hanigan would do just that.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 19 Jan 2017 21:33:25
sull i'm going to try to be nice about this, but who really cares about these insignificant signings as much as you do?

2.) 20 Jan 2017 21:32:28
Hanigan would be better than anyone the white sox have at catcher now.

3.) 22 Jan 2017 01:31:38
That was my thinking

4.) 23 Jan 2017 22:52:06
The Sox need to acquire a young catcher in a trade in case Collins doesn't turn out to stay behind the plate.

18 Jan 2017 15:42:43
Pirates should bring Jason Rogers back on a minor league deal. There is a good chance that Kang gets suspended and that would probably force Freese and Frazier to platoon at 3rd and they could use some depth at 1st. Bringing back Rogers on a minor league deal should be done even if Kang isn't suspended because he can play some 3rd as well and some corner outfield. But he would be a cheap insurance policy for the Pirates and I think it makes too much sense.

What do you guys think? (personally I think this is my most believable post yet)

CS16

1.) 18 Jan 2017 17:57:08
who is jason rogers?

2.) 19 Jan 2017 13:03:44
The guy they traded for last offseason from the Brewers and gave up Keon Broxton to get him. That's who, they DFAd him earlier this offseason

3.) 19 Jan 2017 15:33:54
idk, he seems rather insignificant to me. I think there are better options sull.

4.) 20 Jan 2017 14:52:16
You believe your most believable post yet is saying a guy who got DFAd and no one knows about him will be a starter LOL that's hilarious man, might as well have the guy of the men's softball team in Pittsburg start as well eh

5.) 22 Jan 2017 01:33:00
I never said that he would start I said he would be good depth behind Freese and Bell now that Rodregez is gone.

6.) 03 Feb 2017 02:53:18
They're not going to sign him because he is on the AAA roster, DFA doesn't mean he gets released

Colorado isn't trading Dahl he is their future in the OF. Cargo and Blackman aren't getting any younger. I could see them looking to move Story who just hasn't been the same since his injury and give someone like Brendan Rodgers a shot at the everyday shortstop role. But they have a really good young core. I think they wait one more year before actually going into full win now mode. Let guys like Dahl and Gray and Ottavino get healthy and then this offseason look for an upgrade at 1st (doubt Reynolds can keep his pace up) and possibly at SS (but I personally say give Rodgers a shot at the end of the year when the rosters expand. So I say wait one more year and then focus on winning now and pick up a bullpen arm or two possibly a rotation arm and then an upgrade at 1st and possibly at SS and C too. But their time is definitely coming and pretty soon they will become a postseason regular again like they use to be.

So it is basically Trout for the Phillies farm system and the Hererea Altherr and Pivetta, the few very young players that have made it up to the Majors already and are doing very well. I am surprised you didn't decide to throw in Franco while you were at it because that would basically be the Phillies future for Trout. I do think Trout would bring a lot in return but this I think is too much. And even if this is what it would take to get Trout I hope the Phillies would be smart enough to say no. Plus everyone is saying the Angles should trade Trout because he is just waiting away on the Angles team, he would be even more of a waist on a Phillies team that would be decimated after that trade. This is why I don't think I will ever see someone like Trout or someone with his kind of value get traded because it would cost a team so much to get him that they would be better off without him.

I think if the Giants are still out of it come the trade deadline (I still think they will turn it around) they should try to sell Cueto to the Yankees (this is hard to say coming from a Red Sox fan) but they will be looking for SP if they are still dominating. And the Yankees have some prospects that the Giants want. I can see the deal starting with Mickinly or another one of their Of and then go from there.
