Astros-Reds

Astros get: Cozart

Reds get: Daz Cameron

It was just reported that Correa will be out 6-8 weeks with a thumb injury so they will need to go out and find a fill in option if they want to stay atop the AL standings, plus Cameron is blocked by guys like Fisher and Tucker and a few other guys in the Astros system.

The Reds have been looking to trade Cozart for a while and he is in the middle of the best season of his career so they should look to trade him now because his value will probably never be higher. And adding Cameron to your farm system which is already one of the better systems is a great return for Cozart.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 18 Jul 2017 22:14:54
I think Houston will keep Cameron and use Marwin and Bregman at SS, with Gurriel seeing more time at 3B.

If they make a deal, a guy such as Nunez from San Fran, who can play many positions like Marwin, makes some sense.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 23:09:27
Astros are in the same boat as the Nationals. Both teams have sizable leads in their respective divisions and have bigger issues to deal with than shortstop. Both teams will make do with what they have there and upgrade positions of bigger need.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 23:28:05
Wouldn't be surprised if they go with guys like Erick Aybar for depth. Would cost them nearly nothing in return.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 02:16:40
They are up like 16 games. I don't think they'll panick.

Yankees- Athletics trade:

Yankees get: Alonso, Grey

A's get: Justus Sheffield, Dustin Fowler, Tyler Wade, Tyler Austin

Yankees get the 1st baseman that they desperately need. Along with another starter which would be an upgrade over Pinada even if he was healthy to slide in behind Tanaka.

The Athletics continue their rebuild, they add a high upside pitching prospect, a high upside outfield prospect which they really need(even though he is currently injured) a middle infield prospect with potential and a MLB ready 1st/OF prospect in Austin.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 18 Jul 2017 20:55:57
Frazier or Torres would have to go the other way ++.

2.) 18 Jul 2017 22:15:21
With Gray in the deal, I agree with minnow.

17 Jul 2017 20:22:45
Nats-Reds trade

Nats get: Drew Storen, Scott Feldman

Reds get: Drew Ward, Tyler Watson

Why Nats: this gives them another bullpen upgrade which they are looking for and they get a guy who can step into the open spot that Ross left in the rotation, plus Storen is familiar with the organization.

Why Reds: this gives them 2 more prospects to continue their rebuild. They get a 3rd base prospect with high upside in Ward, and they get a good pitching prospect in Watson as well.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 18 Jul 2017 11:35:21
Do the NATS need to add more? Or is this an overpay?

2.) 18 Jul 2017 12:20:26
With Ross out and the bullpen trashed, the Nats could use more.

3.) 18 Jul 2017 13:32:36
I know they could use more than this, but this is a way to get decent upgrades for a great price. They seem to be unwilling to give up their top prospects so the only other guy I can think of that wouldn't cost much that is being shopped is Robertson. The NATS won't be trading for guys like Britton because I would likely cost them a top prospect. Plus they only need a guy who can step in for this season and maybe even for part of next season while Ross is out. Storen is haveing a great year (compared to the last few years) and would decently help the NATS struggling bullpen, and Feldman has been above average. He is the "ACE" for the Reds so if you get him and take some pressure off of him and slide him down to 4 or 5 (depending on where Roark is) and give him some offense, he should only get better.

4.) 18 Jul 2017 22:18:04
I'm answering your question; you asked if the Nats need more. I said yes.

I don't think it's an overpay. The Nats might have to give up more for those two, but not much more.

BAL-LAD trade

LAD gets: Britton

BAL gets: Drew Jackson, DJ Peters, Ronny Britto, Trevor Oaks

LAD DFA's Romo for assignment to make room.

This puts LAD's bullpen over the top and probably one of the best in the league.

This move jump starts Baltimore's rebuild, they get a couple of middle infield prospects that are currently blocked in LA along with an outfield prospect in Peters and a descent pitching prospect in Oaks.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 16 Jul 2017 23:05:13
It'll take more to land Britton. Probably Verdugo+.

2.) 17 Jul 2017 03:38:08
I agree. Quantity and quality (according to rankings) are two different things. With Brittons dominance over the last couple years, I wouldn't be surprised that they land a couple top 100 players for Britton.

3.) 17 Jul 2017 15:09:52
I know, but that is a good start I think. I know that Belliger is off limits so they should look to off load a few middle infield prospects not named Calhune because he and Seager at the future up the middle for the Dodgers along with Chris Taylor if he can continue what he is doing.

4.) 16 Jul 2017 22:05:48
No top prospects going back does not get Britton. Come on CS, youve been on this site long enough now!

15 Jul 2017 22:47:23
Yankees-Phillies:

Yankees get: Jospeh, Nieshek, Hellikson

Phillies get: Wade, Austin, Solak, Mitchell

Yankees get the help they need at 1st in Joseph who is more than just a rental, they get the bullpen help they desperately need in Nieshek, and they can replace Pinada who is most likely out for the season with Hellikson.

The Phillies get prospects to continue their rebuild. They get a guy in Wade who is blocked by guys like Torres, Meteo, Anduar as well as Castro and Didi who are already in the majors, they also get Austin who becomes expendable with the addition of Joseph, they also get Solak who is in the same boat as Wade and is blocked by all the guys listed above, and Solak himself is also currently blocked by Wade as well. They also get Mitchell who is a MLB ready pitcher that would seem to be the odd man out as a result of this trade.

The Yankees should also look to move Headly at the deadline and give Anduar a longer look at 3rd since he will be their 3rd baseman of the future. They have a bright future with guys like Torres Meteo Frazier just to name a few as well as guys like Judge and Sanchez who are already thriving in the big leagues.

I know it probably won't happen but how close/ not close was I? Who needs to add more and how much more?

If the Brewers are not contending at the trade deadline, which is basically a certain, will they consider trading Thames? and If they do what could they get for him?

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 14 May 2017 05:36:47
no, he is signed for two more years at very team friendly deal.

2.) 14 May 2017 20:36:07
Yes exactly, that's my point, he has all four things going for him, 1. He is producing, 2. He is controllable, 3. He isn't expensive, 4. He isn't that old. With all those things the Brewers could get multiple top prospects for him I think and if I were the Brewers I would do it, they have Shaw already so he could play 1st and play Perez at 3rd and have Villar and Arcia up the middle. I think if they move him to a contender in need of a 1st baseman/ DH at the deadline and get multiple top prospects to speed up their rebuild they should jump on it.

3.) 17 May 2017 02:45:17
The Brewers won't trade Thames. They're in 2nd place right now, and they could be a surprise. Next year, they could be legit. I say they are keepers at the deadline, which means you don't buy, but you don't sell.

Unfortunately for the Red Sox, this Kyle Kendricks experiment hasn't worked out well. Time to get rid of him and bring back up Johnson or even Ownes. Both of them should be better than Kendricks. They don't need to go out and acquire someone(at least not one that would cost a lot) because they still have Price on the DL and when he comes back we should be fine.

When Price comes back we will have a rotation of

Sale
Price
Porcello
Rodregez
Pomerantz

Then once everyone is heathy again our lineup will be

Betts RF
Padroia 2nd
Benitendi LF
Bogarts SS
Rameriz DH
Morland 1st
Bradley Jr. CF
Sandavol 3rd
Leon/Vasquez C

Young OF
Vasquez/Leon C
Holt UTL
Rutledge/Hernandez INF

Bullpen:
Scott/Taylor
Hembree
Ross Jr
Abad
Kelly
Barns
Kimbral

And at some point hopefully you could put Smith and Thornburg into the bullpen as well but I don't know when they will be back.

What do you guys think?

Dodgers lineup in a few years

1. Toels LF
2. Puig RF
3. Seager SS
4. Belinger 1st
5. Peterson CF
6. 3rd _____
7. Barns C
8. Calhoun 2nd
9. Pitcher

They are only missing a 3rd baseman and they won't have a hard time finding one in FA or trade for one or maybe even draft someone that speeds through the minors. They could also improve their catcher but Barns isn't bad either

Then they also got Urias

They are going to be scary good(still) but also younger and have more money to spend after the older guys and their contracts come off the books.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 04 May 2017 15:13:52
How can you disagree with this. It is pure fact.

2.) 04 May 2017 15:59:33
They signed Justin Turner to a 5-year deal this winter.

3.) 05 May 2017 04:27:34
Its hard to predict where players will end up in several years, several of the players may not even be on the dodgers in a few years. that is how it is disagreeable.

19 Jan 2017 18:47:23
I could see the White Sox adding someone like Hanigan on a 1 years deal. He is a great veteran presence and is a great defender and can really help their young pitchers develop. The White Sox aren't going anywhere this season not are they going any where the season after that so they should do everything they can to help develop their young guys and adding Hanigan would do just that.

What do you guys think?

CS16

1.) 19 Jan 2017 21:33:25
sull i'm going to try to be nice about this, but who really cares about these insignificant signings as much as you do?

2.) 20 Jan 2017 21:32:28
Hanigan would be better than anyone the white sox have at catcher now.

3.) 22 Jan 2017 01:31:38
That was my thinking

4.) 23 Jan 2017 22:52:06
The Sox need to acquire a young catcher in a trade in case Collins doesn't turn out to stay behind the plate.

18 Jan 2017 15:42:43
Pirates should bring Jason Rogers back on a minor league deal. There is a good chance that Kang gets suspended and that would probably force Freese and Frazier to platoon at 3rd and they could use some depth at 1st. Bringing back Rogers on a minor league deal should be done even if Kang isn't suspended because he can play some 3rd as well and some corner outfield. But he would be a cheap insurance policy for the Pirates and I think it makes too much sense.

What do you guys think? (personally I think this is my most believable post yet)

CS16

1.) 18 Jan 2017 17:57:08
who is jason rogers?

2.) 19 Jan 2017 13:03:44
The guy they traded for last offseason from the Brewers and gave up Keon Broxton to get him. That's who, they DFAd him earlier this offseason

3.) 19 Jan 2017 15:33:54
idk, he seems rather insignificant to me. I think there are better options sull.

4.) 20 Jan 2017 14:52:16
You believe your most believable post yet is saying a guy who got DFAd and no one knows about him will be a starter LOL that's hilarious man, might as well have the guy of the men's softball team in Pittsburg start as well eh

5.) 22 Jan 2017 01:33:00
I never said that he would start I said he would be good depth behind Freese and Bell now that Rodregez is gone.

6.) 03 Feb 2017 02:53:18
They're not going to sign him because he is on the AAA roster, DFA doesn't mean he gets released

Plus Davidson is the guy that is replacing Frazier. They aren't going around trading everyone, they are just trading the old guys. Davidson isn't going anywhere.

If we are giving up Devers then we better be getting Fullmer back end of story. I am guessing you are a Cubs fan because of your name but something also tells me that you are a Tigers fan as well because of your profile picture.

No chance the Bucs get that for Mccution. The Dodgers don't really need another OF, they have Puig in one corner and Bellibger in another and Joc up the middle. What the Dodgers need is some bullpen help and maybe one more starter. Urius is part of their future big 3 of him Seger and Bellinger.

I doubt he comes to Boston, They have Hanley locked into the DH barring any injury, and they have Sam Travis waiting in the wings, he is the reason why they did not target any of the big power hitters this offseason because they did not want to block him any longer. I could see him landing with the Rangers and my dark horse is the Angles. The Yankees have Bird and Austin so I do not think that they will be a contender for him, I think they are saving up for a run at Harper.
