Any Rays fan knows that the Rays would not give their controllable pitchers for a rental. Faria is 4-0 this season and Honeywell is killing AAA and will be up soon if Snell doesn't do good in the upcoming weeks.

From what I read Detroit wanted Happ and Baez for Farmer, so imagine what the Rays would ask for Archer while on the chase? Also Rays are closer (3.5) to first place in the east and have a WC spot than the Cubs are to Brewers (5.5 games )

The "winner" of this deal isn't going to be known for at least a few years. Quintana is on a lengthy contract and neither Jimenez nor Cease are likely going to be called up until 2019.
