Cubs trade Starlin Castro to the Mets for Noah Syndergaard.

Cubs trade Anthony Rizzo to the Phillies for Cole Hamels or Oakland for Sonny Gray.

Mets get the SS they desperately need and Cubs get a highly regarded top of the rotation young arm to continue their youth movement.

Phillies get a young offensive force, cost controlled, which allows them to shed payroll and instantly improve an inept offense. Cubs get the ace they are looking for as they make their leap to contention. If the Oakland trade takes place Oakland injects life into their inept offense since Cespedes trade, at a manageable price, and have arms returning from injury to soften the loss of Gray. Chicago gets a top of the rotation arm in his prime to lead.

Chicago starts 2015 with an infield of: 1B: Olt; 2B: Alcantara; SS: Baez/Watkins; 3B: Baez/Valbuena; LF: Coughlan; CF: Szczur; RF: Soler; C: Castillo.

By mid 2015 Kris Bryant is up and move him to 1B to preserve him. By August Addison Russell is up to play SS and Baez is a full time 3B.

August batting order: Szczur, Russell, Bryant, Baez, Soler, Alcantara, Coughlin, Castillo.

Szczur leads off and plays Centerfield. People are concerned with his hit tool but with the guys behind him he will get pitched to and get on base and create havoc with his speed. Defensively he is the best Defensive outfielder on the team. He slides to left in 2016 when Almora comes up if Almora continues progressing as an elite Centerfielder. By then it will be well known if Szczur can play everyday and by 2017 Billy McKinney or Schwarber (hopefully he can catch everyday tho)will be ready if Szczur proves he cannot play everyday.

Cubs 2016 lineup: Almora, Russell, Bryant, Baez, Soler, Alcantara, Szczur, Castillo.

Rotation: Hamels/Gray, Arrieta, Hendricks, Syndergaard, CJ Edwards.

The infield will have ridiculous power potential. An outfield of Soler, Almora and Szczur may be the fastest and best defensive outfield in the league and their rotation looks pretty impressive.

Thoughts?

1.) Unfortunately for the Phil's, Rizzo would have no place to play with Howard a and his immovable contract blocking first. Hamels for Soler, Alcantara, and Wada might get him if though.

2.) Cmon bruh.

3.) Phils will get 4 or 5 prospects for Hamels. Two of which will be MLB ready.

4.) Phils are already rumored to be considering outright cutting Howard in the offseason. If so that's a lot of dead money. Rizzo is very resonable at this point and the Phils would consider that trade if they are not on the hook for any of Hamels contract. Why do they want a $20 million pitcher who will be done when they are ready to contend again. The Cubs could clearly take on a 20 Million dollar pitcher because 90% of their roster would be cost controlled players.

5.) WHY? Two pieces of their young future for trades that wouldn't happen! Rizzo and Castro are their young cornerstones, no way they send them off.

6.) ^No one will give them that much.

7.) Mets won't part with syndergaard for castro. would want baez or russell.

8.) ^^I agree with you on Rizzo, but Castro is really overrated, and would probably fetch more on the trade market than he's actually worth. Might as well sell high on him.
