Even though the Jays are most likely going to be sellers, I doubt they trade Donaldson unless they get a kings ransom.

If the Cards offered Reyes, Kelly and Weaver I would take it. Donaldson is all but gone after next year. The window has closed. This from a lifetime Jays fan!

Well, that Dexter Fowler deal wasn't exactly "smart". I think people give Mozeliak too much credit and Matheny too much blame.

Donaldson is on the downswing of his career. His arrival would do little to get the Cards into the playoffs this year, and this deal would greatly damage their future prospects for the postseason.

As for the Fowler deal, it was neither great nor terrible. The offense this year has collapsed in St. Louis, and a few guys they were counting on (Grichuk, Piscotty, Carpenter, Wong, Aledmys Diaz) have struggled greatly. It's a group failure, one for which Fowler is merely part of the blame.

Again, the Cards would be stupid to make the trade proposed above.
