Long time, no see. My other account got banned. I'm going to attempt to construct a Miguel Cabrera trade, so bare with me here.

Houston gets: 1B Miguel Cabrera
Detroit gets: 1B A. J. Reed, OF Daz Cameron, OF Derek Fisher, RHP Francis Martes.

I write for a website, and I'm trying to put together an article about the trade rumors swirling around Cabrera. Anything helps.

Honest I put a Cabrera trade happening at 1% I can only see 3 teams being interested in possibly doing it, Rangers, Astros and least likely the Red Sox. He's going into the second year of an eight year deal he is owed 228M over 7 years, he's 34 and the contract runs through him being 42. don't get me wrong he's a good hitter but he almost has no versitality, a NL club would be dumb to trade him since he probably only has 2-3 more seasons left at 1B. Regarding the 3 teams I mentioned, Texas is only an option because they have a hole at 1B and doubt they'd want to do a deal or have the prospects to. Boston, same as Texas but with the hole at DH, they have the prospects but reports are EE would be too much and he'd be 100 plus million cheaper. That leaves the Astros, they have the money and the prospects but I feel it'd be dumb to make that kind of commitment, it remains to be seen what happens but I'll bet he stays.

Miggy is a good athlete, and could play first reasonably well for several years. I worry about his bat slowing down in four years or so.

I think there are other teams that could be interested. Seattle is one. Washington. Heck, can you imagine the buzz he would bring to the Mets? Or Toronto? Baltimore? So much would depend on the amount of cash Detroit will send with Miggy.

Seattle does have a need but they could just a sign a guy like Pearce, Washington will be fine, Mets deal will almost certainly have to include one of Matz, DeGrom, Harvey and it doesn't make much sense to do that from the mets side since again they lost one of their healthiest pitchers and they really have no depth behind the big 4 I get lugo but it was small sample size. Why wouldn't Toronto just sign Bautista or EE for much cheaper and shorter contract. Baltimore could just resign Trumbo for the same reasons as Toronto. If I'm a team the tigers would have to eat at least 100M.
