Phillies Dodgers trade:

Phillies get: Yasiel Puig
Dodgers get: Roman Quinn, Franklyn Kilome, Zach Eflin, Cody Asche

Why?
Dodgers can rid themselves of a clubhouse drama in Puig, while in return getting a promising young outfielder to eventually pair with Pederson, adding two top15 RHP prospects, and a 3rd baseman who is young and an "upgrade" over their current options

Phillies trade some surplus of their farm, while adding a top, crowd drawing player in puig who can help spark a lineup who will be ready to compete in 2017.

Projected lineup:
SS: JP Crawford
RF: Yasiel Puig
C:Jorge Aflaro
3B: Maikel Franco
LF: Nick Williams
CF: Aaron Athlerr
1B: Andrew Knapp
2B: Cesar Hernandez
P.

Dodgers aren't that desperate to move Puig.

Good grief this is all sorts of awful.

2.) 30 Dec 2015 21:44:34
The Phillies lineup is missing some parts
Sweeney
Ruiz
Howard
Ruf
Blanco
Galvis
Bourjos

And who is this Crawford guy he isn't even on the 40-man roster and neither is Knapp or Williams so get your stuff together and try again.

3.) 30 Dec 2015 22:13:07
This is a lineup for when the phillies are prepared to compete again, which would be 2017, i should have said that so my bad. Crawford is their number one prospect, knapp is their #2 catching prospect likely to move to 1B, and Williams is their number 4 prospect, so I'm pretty sure my "stuff" is together.

4.) 30 Dec 2015 22:22:53
You did say that, CrazySull just can't read.

It doesn't change the fact that you basically have the Dodgers pretty much handing over Puig for nothing but a prospect who has never lived up to his hype (Quinn), a 3B/ LF who isn't all that great (Asche) and two so-so guys. Dodgers would want a large return for Puig, and rightfully so.

Think J. P. Crawford, think Cornelius Randolph, Jorge Alfaro. It won't be cheap.

5.) 30 Dec 2015 22:35:18
Yea but a lot can happen between now and then.

6.) 31 Dec 2015 00:07:55
who's sweeney

it better not be Ryan Sweeney.

7.) 31 Dec 2015 00:11:13
Also no team should want to trade for puig he is just a head case that no one wants. I doubt a team trades for him unless they have no other option left and are that desperate. Or the Dodgers lower the asking price drastically.

8.) 31 Dec 2015 01:08:58
Darnell Sweeney. Ryan Sweeney is with Minnesota.

9.) 31 Dec 2015 01:19:08
No Darnell Sweeney the guy they got in the Utley deal.

10.) 31 Dec 2015 04:05:21
if the dodgers deal puig this winter, it will be for a top starting pitcher.

11.) 31 Dec 2015 19:05:15
First of all, Randolph, Crawford, and Alfaro is a huge overpay for a player that has attitude issues to say the least. You saw how much the price dropped for chapman. The Reds wanted Judge and one of Severino or Sanchez in the summer. They didn't come close to matching that package. Also, ask any prospect guy in the game, and Kilome could have the biggest upside out of any Phillies prospect, so he isn't a "so-so" guy. He has legit ace potential. Thirdly, the Phillies are never going to make a trade like this, especially this early in their rebuild. They would only make this kind of deal when they were playing better and the players they gave up were spare parts.

Curve Ball prediction:
Jason Hayward signs with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Why? Bc the phillies will most certainly buyout their 3 remaining vet contracts in the next 2 season (ruiz howard and harrison) so they have the space to sign heyward to a deal he can't refuse. at 26, and having him locked down for the foreseeable future, he can become that leader to a young team that has potential to compete in 2 seasons.

PhilliesGuy

1.) 03 Dec 2015 00:37:04
I'm guessing heyward wants to play for a team that can compete for all years and not sign to a team that is in a total rebuild, makes 0 sense whatsoever.

2.) 03 Dec 2015 00:42:45
I could see Heyward going to the Phillies. Makes sense for both sides. Gives phillies fans something to go to the ballpark. If not him I could see parra signing a 4/60 deal, he's just 28 so still relatively young.

3.) 03 Dec 2015 00:48:28
Lemme guess. you're a philly fan. that's a good prediction but I think that they'll go for those big names next year. Guys like strasburg become FA's next year and i'm sure philly will sign at least two of them to be complementary pieces to Nola, Williams, e, t, tc.

4.) 03 Dec 2015 01:32:29
Why would Jason Heyward waste 2-3 years of his prime in Philadelphia?

5.) 03 Dec 2015 02:41:28
i don't think he'd be wasting it he'd be the face of the franchise for one, and I believe the Phillies will be sneaky good this year and will contend next year so he would really only be wasting 1 year of his prime. Believe Parra is a much better fit though and more realistic.

6.) 03 Dec 2015 03:44:47
I will be absolutely floored if the Phillies are good within the next year or two.

They'll be good, but likely not until their top young prospects are ready.

7.) 03 Dec 2015 12:38:40
Heyward is going to look at all options, but one thing will be for sure, he will sign with a team that will win now. I doubt he's going to sign with a team that is still a couple of years away from being respectable again.

The Dodgers have: Crawford, Alex Guerrero, Joc Pederson, Andre Ethier and Puig- who are all starting outfielders essentially. When Crawford comes back from the DL that leaves them with an interesting idea.

They are in need of another pitcher to fill that void behind Greinke so here's this:

Cole Hamels for Yasiel Puig

PhilliesGuy

1.) 19 Jul 2015 15:16:20
Ok, one I think the Phillies would really want more than one piece in return for Hamels. And this void behind Grienke, while not as spectacular this year have you forgotten about Kershaw? Name ring a bell to you?

2.) 19 Jul 2015 15:54:28
I like it. Puig is younger, his contract isn't too bad, and he could be a centerpiece for Philly's rebuilding. Too, reports indicate that many Dodgers don't care for him.

3.) 19 Jul 2015 16:07:20
I thought Alex Guerrero was an infielder.

4.) 20 Jul 2015 00:45:09
Phillies pass. They are looking for controllable players well into the future. Either Puig or Guerrero would make them a little better right now but both would be gone long before the Phils are relevant again. This is basically why they haven't traded Hamels yet - they want prospects and teams keep offering major league players (some worse then this).

09 Jul 2015 21:49:41
Two trade ideas. ik its optimistic from the phillies, but if either of these teams is serious about winning in the next year or 2, these trade could work:

Phillies trade: Cole Hamels
Rangers Trade: Joey Gallo

Phillies trade: Cole Hamels, Papelbon
Cubs trade: Kyle Schwarber, Addison Russel

PhilliesGuy

1.) 10 Jul 2015 08:05:30
Rangers would be more likely to give up Alfaro than Gallo.

The Phillies have been asking for young catchers in deals. Alfaro would make a lot of sense for them in return.

2.) 12 Jul 2015 16:51:09
Gallo is going nowhere he will be their starting 3B next year he is a star waiting to happen.

3.) 14 Jul 2015 05:49:52
3 way trade
Pirates) Mark Trumbo and cash
Seattle) Ben Revere
Phillies) Ketel Marte, Elias diaz and Jacoby Jones

I'm a pirates fan just curious on everyone's opinion

4.) 14 Jul 2015 17:18:49
No way pirates give up jacoby Jones and their future catcher for an aging, washed up "slugger"

Pirates lose big time

25 Jun 2015 02:02:30
Phillies: Joey Gallo, Jorge Alfaro, Lewis Brinson
Rangers: Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard, Cash

PhilliesGuy

1.) 25 Jun 2015 06:42:31
I highly doubt the Rangers will part with gallo.

2.) 25 Jun 2015 14:43:16
Just no, the Phillies will trade Hamels alone in a deal. If they added Howard and all of the money he has left it wouldn't net as good of a package

Cubs starting lineup next season:
1: Jason Heyward CF
2: Jorge Soler RF
3: Kris Bryant 3B
4: Anthony Rizzo 1B
5: Ben Zobrist 2B
6: Kyle Schwarber LF
7: Montero/Ross C
8: Russell SS
9: P

Thats a pretty dank lineup if you ask me.

PhilliesGuy

1.) 12 Dec 2015 02:53:22
It will probably be
1. Heyward
2. Zobrist
3. Rizzo
4. Bryant
5. Schwarber
6. Soler
7. Montero
8/9. Russell

I agree with the assessment though.
