Guys just wanted to see if a deal for Papelpon and Hamels could be made where the Phils retain some of Hamels salary while not doing so for Papelpon it makes sense since Jays need good mlb pieces and a starting pitcher and a closer would be a great add and adding hamels would slot our rotation great and when Stroman comes back next year while also giving us a chance at the playoffs this year. The jays future rotation headed by Hamels as there leader would be great young controllable arms.

So my question is what would a blockbuster deal between the phillies and jays look like for Papelpon and Hamels and what prospects would be involved (Not including Hoffman, Sanchez, Norris, and Pompey because there regarded as the core of the future and 3 of the 4 will make major contibutions this year). And remember jays and the phillies have history making blockbusters example-Roy Halladay deal

1.) How could there be a blockbuster when you eliminate the top 4 prospects from the deal? The Jays might have enough left to get Papelbon, but not Hamels, and certainly not both.

2.) To get Hamels and Papelbon, I believe Sanchez would have to be in the deal.

Three Moves the Blue Jays need to make

#1- Outfield Replacement for Saunders, Bullpen depth and Second Baseman

(#? Prospect Rank in Jays system)

Arizona: C Navarro, 2B Ryan Goins, RP Miguel Castro (#11), 1B Matthew Dean (#13), LHP Jairo Labourt (#16)

Toronto: 2B Aaron Hill, RP Brad Zeigler, OF Cody Ross

#2- Closer

Phillies: RHP Kyle Drabek, Sean Reid-Foley (#10), Alberto Tirado (#15)

Toronto: Jonathan Papelbon

#3- Bullpen Depth

-Sign Kyle Farnsworth to a 1 year deal

1.) Hahahahhaha no chance you get hill, ziegler, and ross for that

2.) Lol, that trade is terrible for the Blue Jays, they give up two very good pitching prospects (Castro, and Laibourt(led single-A in ERA)), a good prospect in Dean, and a starting catcher for three mediocre players.

3.) Why do they need to replace Saunders?
They got him to fill a hole in the outfield why do they already need a replacement for him?

4.) Oh never mind didn't see that he torn his meniscus so yes they do need a replacement

Gpack,

Hill is coming off his worst season yet. and with his age, I can't imagine he gets exceedingly better.

Ross is a backup in Arizona, and a 2nd backup OF at that (Inciarte will get more time than he will)

Ziegler is old. Heck, all three are old.

I'd be much more surprised if Toronto gives that up for three old, declining players.

6.) Pilar is a good replacement and will end the year in a platoon. Travis wil be the 2nd baseman by mid season if not sooner.
Yes they need a closer:
Navarro, Buerhle
for
?

Dont people feel like this move doesn't seem necessary for the tigers since they have a good bullpen after upgrading it and arguably still hold one of the best pitching staffs in the AL it seems like a move that the Jays should make if the Phillies are retaining the salary of both Papelbon and Lee as they seem to fill two needs for the jays a starting pitcher and a closer. It gives more depth to the staff and allows Norris and Sanchez to grow in the pen and moving there arms into the bullpen makes our bullpen deep and really good

Pitching Staff:

1. Lee
2. Dickey
3. Stroman
4. Beurhle
5. Hutchinson
