This is bad.

1. The Brewers are actively trying to trade OF, not acquire them. And especially not old, washed up OF.

2. The Brewers are needing IF help.

3. That's not a high enough prospect for Ellsbury.

4. There's not a snowball's chance in hell the Brewers trade Villar for this sorry package.

Seriously, the Yankees aren't moving Ellsbury. The prospect (s) demanded would immediately shut down conversations.

I did hear something about the Brewers being interested in Jacoby, which baffles me. That seems like it would be the one area they don't need. I think they would need to move a little bit more than Abreu with him as well, no matter where he's going, and Villar is probably more than they'd get back. Abreu plus is just what they would have to include in order for a team to take Jacoby. They'd have to add to that whatever the equal value of a player coming to NY would be.

As a qualifier, I doubt the Marlins trade Realmuto unless they are truly blown away.

I don’t think Twins fans would want to hear what qualifies as “blown away”.

Catchers of Realmuto’s skill plus his contract aren’t traded very often. The Marlins are going to demand the world for him.

Right now Lagares, Conforto, Cespedes and Nimmo are the Mets outfield. All of them have injury history, and Conforto is hurt as we speak. Lagares is also the only one who's a plus defender in CF. They'd have to make a move for an OF (ideally a CF) before thinking about this kind of a move.

This would be a solid dump of Hanley, and I don't see Travis as their first baseman of the future, but they seem to be really high on him. I don't think this would be something they'd do, but I wouldn't hate it.
