Phillies are loaded at catcher, not sure why they'd want another one.

I like this. The Phils do have some catching prospects, but the 2 top ones (Alfaro and Knapp) are offensive minded players who will probably end up at other positions.

For the Phillies to complete their rebuild, I think they ought to consider trading Ken Giles. They have players in their farm system like Alberto Tirado and Jimmy Cordero that have equal stuff to Giles and with his age and proven track record, I think he has significant trade value.

Dbacks: Ken Giles, Cody Asche

Phillies: Braden Shipley, Jack Reinheimer, Jake Barrett, Mitch Hangier.

Why would the Phillies trade Ken Giles when he has plenty of controllable years left?

Is your name Bubba Gump? This is a terrible idea.

For the Phillies to complete their rebuild, they got to get rid of Ryan Howards contract. First!

Ryan Howard's contract is up after this year so I don't think they need to pay that much at all. Also, the Phillies are set up right now with zero money on the books for 2018, I don't think they want to change that. Trading Howard would only happen for the younger guys to get playing time, not to bring in another old guy plus an outfielder, a position the Phillies already have plenty of.

First of all, Randolph, Crawford, and Alfaro is a huge overpay for a player that has attitude issues to say the least. You saw how much the price dropped for chapman. The Reds wanted Judge and one of Severino or Sanchez in the summer. They didn't come close to matching that package. Also, ask any prospect guy in the game, and Kilome could have the biggest upside out of any Phillies prospect, so he isn't a "so-so" guy. He has legit ace potential. Thirdly, the Phillies are never going to make a trade like this, especially this early in their rebuild. They would only make this kind of deal when they were playing better and the players they gave up were spare parts.
