Both are rentals, while these are not the Yankees top prospects, I don't see this happening.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 20:36:06
They should be rentals (atleast for 1st base with Bird coming back) . With the relief market strong i doubt the mets are going to really cut price for arguably the best reliever on the trade market. (Yes, Wilson and Hand and Neshek are good but Reed is the most proven and has had a sub 2 era for almost the whole year) . Then Duda, pardon my being a mets fan, but he is super underrated and would have a field day with the short porch in right at Yankee Stadium. The mets aren't getting Frazier, Fowler, Sheffield or even Andujar. This is a reasonable ask, maybe a bit high, but this is what it would take. McKinney is not the same prospect he once was and Gallegos has so far struggled in the majors. Acevedo and Tate are having great seasons which is why they would have the value to get this trade done. With Headley not being good and the yankees still possibly looking for another pen upgrade, where is the error in my logic?

3.) 21 Jul 2017 20:47:58
The Yanks have no need for Reed. Have Chapman, DRob and Betances for 8th and 9th. Kahnle, Warren and Green for 6th and 7th. Better to sell him separately somewhere else. Duda would be nice pickup-but limited defense and limited market. With Alonso (and maybe Matt Adams) also on market-Duda may not get dealt anywhere. Who besides Yanks looking for 1B? Trade values are fair. Would like to hear your revised offer for Duda only.

4.) 22 Jul 2017 03:53:53
Okay, just for arguments sake (i may be aiming high) but how about

Mets Acquire:
Domingo Acevedo
Giovanny Gallegos

Yankees Acquire:
Lucas Duda.

5.) 22 Jul 2017 18:41:23
I don't think Duda brings back anything of value for the Mets. There are so many 1B options, and Duda is near the bottom of said options.

6.) 23 Jul 2017 01:45:06
I'll give one or the other-your pick. Not both.

7.) 23 Jul 2017 17:22:07
Acevedo, for sure. I'd probably do Duda Straight up for Acevedo or Tate.

8.) 23 Jul 2017 18:14:25
Of course you would. The Yankees won't.

Mets Acquire:
Brady Aiken
Luis Lugo

Indians Acquire:
Jay Bruce.

1.) 21 Jul 2017 15:34:37
Indians would not do that, IMO.

2.) 21 Jul 2017 20:49:53
Indians will never trade Aiken for rental. Maybe Naquin?

3.) 21 Jul 2017 22:17:59
Mets would have to sweeten the deal:
Reed.

4.) 21 Jul 2017 20:28:18
Considering Aiken is in a down year at 3-10 albeit with a 3.98 era and Lugo also really hasn't put things together and Bruce being a legitimate 40HR, 110 RBI guy, even for half a season it represents a big upgrade to cleveland's lineup. We've seen with JD Martinez what someone in the realm of Bruce will cost and this is a slightly lower value than what the DBacks gave up for him.

I know met fans on this site aren't super realistic sometimes but this is very fair considering Bruce having a good year, the indians having multiple injuries in the outfield with Chisenhall and Jackson (even with Zimmer coming on strong) and the tribe needing someone to put them over the edge. Both prospects are probably 2 years at least from the majors so i felt this was very fair.

Mets Acquire:
Trey Ball

Red Sox Acquire:
Asdrubal Cabrera.

Mets Acquire:
AJ Pollock

Diamondbacks Acquire:
Robert Gsellman
Gavin Cecchini
Kevin Plawecki
Gabriel Ynoa

I'm really just trying to gauge Pollock's value. His injury in '16 makes it tough after such a good season '15.

1.) 26 Nov 2016 10:58:24
I wish man, I really do but you know the deal.

2.) 26 Nov 2016 14:42:11
That package wouldn't even come close to getting Pollock, who is one of the top hitters in the game.

Too, the D-Backs just made a deal to get Taijuan Walker, so their need for starting pitching is just not there. They have a rotation of Greinke-Walker-Miller-Corbin-Ray-Bradley-de la Rosa, which is better than many teams, though some of those guys are bounceback candidates.

3.) 26 Nov 2016 14:55:11
no way does mike haven accept that. he will want rosario, nimmo, and probably more still.

4.) 26 Nov 2016 19:04:19
So if you look at this post and BaseballTrade's post, how does Pollock cost less than McCutchen?

Mets Acquire:
Jake McGee

Rockies Acquire:
Alejandro De Aza (for money purposes)
Josh Smoker.

metsfan3

1.) 22 Jul 2016 01:37:38
You are over-estimating "other peoples" evaluations of De Aza and Smoker.

2.) 22 Jul 2016 01:57:32
You don't seem to understand how bad De Aza is. And also I doubt that would be enough for McGee (even though he's having the worst season of his career) given his track record of having success in the bigs just last year. Not to mention If you look at his splits, 9.22 ERA in 13 innings at Coors field, and the more accurate 1.98 ERA in 13 innings away from Coors.

Im okay with the 2 crappy outfielders and reliever part but Dominic Smith is going to be good and every scout in baseball will tell you the same thing. there's a reason why the word untouchable has been thrown around with him.
