Yankees Future

2017 Offseason

NYY- Kyle Schwarber
CHC- Dellen Betances

This trade makes too much sense for me. Schwarber needs to be a DH and Yankee stadium is perfect for his LH power. Betances is in the final year of his contract (2018) and will command more money than the Yankees will be willing to spend on another RP.

NYY- Jacob deGrom
NYM- Starlin Castro, Estavan Florial, Miguel Andjuar, Dillon Tate

The Mets are starting to look like a team destine to rebuild. deGrom will be a FA following the 2019 season and would net a great return for the Mets. The Yankees have a deep farm and could use a top starter that's under control for the 18 and 19 seasons.

NYY- Tyrell Jenkins
SD- Jacoby Ellsbury ($31 million -50% of contract remaining)

The Yankees have to do what they can to get out of the Ellsbury contract. The Padres have very few players locked in long term and could afford the $10 million a year for Ellsbury over the next 3 years. It would make sense for both teams to consider.

2018 moves
LF Bryce Harper 10 years $420 million
3B Manny Machado 10 years $385 million

The Yankees have enough young players to allow them to afford Harper and Machado while the young guys (Judge, Sanchez, Frazier, Torres, Adams, Severino, Montgomery) are still under team control. They will be able to field the best team in the league for quite a run.

2019 Roster

C- Gary Sanchez
1B- Greg Bird
2B- Gleyber Torres
3B- Manny Machado
SS- Didi Gregorius
LF- Bryce Harper
CF- Clint Frazier
RF- Aaron Judge
DH- Kyle Schwarber

SP- Jacob deGrom
SP- Sonny Gray
SP- Luis Severino
SP- Jordan Montgomery
SP- Chance Adams

SU- Tommy Kanhle
CL- Aroldis Chapman

This is all obviously hypothetical, but I honestly feel that the Yankees will do something along these lines to ensure they're putting out the best team possible while their young core is under control. This team would easily be the top team in the league with players locked up for another few years. I think the Yankees will get back to spending and being the top team in the MLB for the foreseeable future.

Seriously, these are terrible. The Mets aren't going to hand over deGrom for that cheap. It's going to cost the Yankees a massive premium.

The Yanks won't get deGrom for that package - it would take lots more. It would take more than a reliever to get Schwarber. As for Harper and Machado, the Yanks could get one, but won't get both.

Yeah, I agree with thestatbook, those trades all seem to favor the Yanks, especially the degrom one. And I don't see any team, even the yankees, shelling out 800 mil in one offseason for two players.

No one wants ellsbury I think that's the worst trade on here because Jenkins isn't awful, believe he was the other player involved in the heyward and Miller deal and plus all these other deals the opposing team to the yanks get screwed.

I don't think Yankees wanna sign hitters to big contracts anymore. Reason for the young bats. They need to use that money on legit ace pitchers. They have the bats they just need to get mlb experience. Of course sign cheaper hitters at $18 per year just not $40+ per.
