I don't know what needs to be done for you to understand this:

The Tigers cannot and will not acquire a major outfield upgrade in a trade without giving up likely both of Fulmer and Norris. Or get creative and find some third team to sweeten the pot.

if you keep up on them like I do then you will know a thing or two k I know that the tigers are going to get either Blackmon or Cargo but they are also looking at Davis and Upton and Cespedes

If they get an outfielder, it will be through free agency, or they empty the cupboards for one in a trade.

The Tigers farm depth is incredibly thin. You might think otherwise being a Tigers fan, but there's not much to offer in terms of a major trade. And if you give that up, all that's left is guys on the Major League roster: we're talking Anthony Gose, Jose Iglesias, and the likes of those dudes.

Trust me, Al Avila will destroy that team if he makes a trade for any of the available OFs on the trade market.

And for what it's worth: you think the Rockies are going to give up a really good outfielder for two guys, neither of whom, have played past the Single-A level yet?

They want guys closer to the Majors, not a bunch of project pieces.

You have no clue Fulmer and Norris are not going anywhere and Blackmon is in his last year of control. So you might have to give Machado and a pitcher but not your two top pitching prospects more like Farmer or Angel Nesbitt.

^^^Blackmon isn't a free agent until 2019. Yes, he'll probably get some good money towards the end of his arbitration years, but it's not like the Tigers can't afford to pay players.

You're talking about a really good lead off hitter who is under team control until at least 2019.

If you think it'll take a reliever and a middle of the road prospect, you're clueless.

Tigers don't have what it takes to get a Rox OF without giving up at least Fulmer or Norris.

And, not or.

Fulmer AND Norris. I will be completely floored if they get away with only giving up one.

The Tigers just ought to sign an outfielder and keep what few prospects they have.

Your clueless first of all Machado according the the reporters that actually folow the Rockies are making him part of the deal and they are looking for a young reliever. Second Norris and Fulmer are top prospects neither one of them is going for a Blackmon. What I said is that he is arbitration eligible now and we are talking about a good player not a great player whose home analyticals numbers are inflated and he actually has significantly lower power numbers on the road.

Once again, you conveniently downplay Blackmon's numbers and say he's significantly worse when he's not at Coor's Field.

If he's that awful away from Coor's Field, why would you want him in a Tigers uniform? If he's worse away from Coor's Field, he's not an upgrade, so why give up ANYONE for him?

But it's clear you don't think that, otherwise you wouldn't be a) defending this and b) suggesting your team trades for him.

The Rockies are going to ask for a premium on any and all of their outfielders. As they should.

And I'll give you a hint: Dixon Machado or any of the Tigers young players not named Norris or Fulmer are not a premium.

I haven't found one single article coming from any Colorado reporters about interest in Dixon Machado. Not one.

I have, however, seen multiple Detroit reporters (even a Bleacher Report article, written by a life-long Tigers fan) suggest such things. Not one links anything to anyone of knowledge about the Rockies.

If you want to share what journalists that cover the Rockies, especially if you know any from Patrick Saunders (Denver Post) or Thomas Harding (MLB's Rockies writer), I'd be happy to consider it.

Totellthetuth u would be the happiest tigers fan ever if they got Blackmon and u r so high in your two top pitching prospects u would probably not even trade them for trout. New flash they r prospects meaning that they haven't even reached the majors yet. And I know Norris made like 1 start or something but still.
