The Indians have something going for them this year and next year if they can put together all the right pieces.

Sign utility man Darwin Barney to 1-2 year deal for around 3 million

Sign reliver Joe Smith to a 2 year deal for 5 million

Trades

Rob Kaminski and Willi Castro to Padres for Derick Norris

This gives the Indians an upgrade at Catccher while the Padres continue their rebuild and get a good young pitcher and a young shortstop.

Greg Allen and Tyler Kriger to Astros for Tyler White

This gives the Indians a bench bat that can play corner infeild spots that the Astros don't really need now that they have Reed Bregman and a combination of Gonzales and Valbena at the corner infield and DH spots. And the Astros get a good young Infeilder to add to their infield depth, and a outfielder that will add depth as well.

I am not sure about the White trade it was just an idea that popped into my head but that spot could be filled by any free agent that can play 1st or maybe there is someone already In house that I am forgetting about.

The only one I'd object too is the White trade, because it doesn't really give the Astros anything they need which would be pitching. IF and OF are both fine, C and P are where they need help.
