Not exactly. Williamson has great raw power and could develop into a quality starting LF/ RF in the near future. Coonrod pitched to a 2.55 ERA between A/ AA this season with .209 OPP AVG and 94 Ks. Duggar had his best season yet, hitting .302 with a .388 OBP between A/ AA. In AA, he was even better than his totals, hitting .321 with a .391 OBP. Detroit is getting a good package for a guy they have no use for considering the rebuilding tone they have.

detroit has little leverage in trading their guys. they are either expensive or have little team control. plus they are desperate to move them.

martinez is very good, but not great. poor fielder, relies too much on power that won't translate in san francisco.

plus, coonrod is a guy scouts are very high on. the package from san francisco might be too much honestly.

Detroit actually isn't desperate to do anything and the proof is in the multiple reports that they want top prospects for guys like Martinez, Verlander, Miggy. Any team that is selling almost always has leverage do to the fact that they don't have to trade anyone, if they don't get an offer they like they can keep their players and give it another shot no reason to settle for a bad deal like this one. And this is coming from a Giants fan.

they are very desperate. that's word all around the league that they are shopping deals.

and for a bad defender who relies on power, san francisco isn't getting a ton to work with in martinez. plus he's a free agent after one season. no one is giving up top prospects for him.
