Mariners trade Taijuan Walker, Brad Miller to LA Dodgers for Joc Pederson and Andre Ethier (LA pays $10M of $53.5M remaining salary)

LA gets young, controllable SS,adds a quality young, controllable SP and no longer focuses on trading their best hitter, Matt Kemp. They remain the favorites in their division, with the best rotation in baseball.

Seattle gets a good, durable professional hitter to man RF at a fair market contract and a prospect who, even in Safeco, should be a plus hitter going forward, taking over CF in 2016 when Austin Jackson walks.

LA doesn't need more middle infielders.
They already have Gordon, Turner, Arruebarruena, Guerrero, Rojas, and then this nobody named Corey Seager waiting in the wings.

Brad Miller's value isn't that high as it is.

2.) 09 Dec 2014
Seager is said to be ready no earlier than 2016
Arruebarruena is all glove, no stick.
Rojas is not a starting SS
Guerrero was signed as a SS, but transitioned to 2b (he is seen as an average fielder there, but worse at SS)
Gordon and Turner are 2b.

Again, it's about solving the position only until Seager is ready, and Miller would make a good stop-gap option, he can also play other IF and even OF spots once Seager comes up, giving the team flexibility

Miller is a throw-in on this deal. You could easily take him out and still get it done.

How about Walker that was in the trade, come natedub comment on the whole trade, not just one player.

One player can kill the entire trade. Besides, I'm not sure if the Dodgers are interested in lateral trades (Walker for Pederson is a lateral trade)
