Cubs offseason:

Try to work out a long term deal with Arrietta.

Bring back Joe Smith and Trevor Cahill

Smith will be a cheaper option than Chapman and he will get the job done.

And Cahill would slide into the long relief arm in the bullpen who is capable of making a spot start along with Montgomery

Sign: Logan Morison, Ivan Nova

Bring in Morison to be a backup 1st baseman so that they can give Bryant and Rizzo more rest days to keep them healthy and to keep Beaz from playing over at 1st.

Sign Nova to take over the 5th spot in the rotation since it seems less likely now that Hammels returns to the team next year.

Trade Solar to any team for prospects. He is the odd man out, there isn't any real room for him in the lineup unless you start him over Schwarber (why would you) . So trade him and get something for him, and make your deep farm system that much deeper.

Lineup:
1. Fowler CF
2. Zobrist 2nd
3. Bryant 3rd
4. Rizzo 1st
5. Contreres C
6. Schwarber LF
7. Hayward RF
8. Pitcher
9. Russell SS

Bench:
1. Beaz INF
2. La Stella INF
3. Montaro C
4. Scezer OF
5. Morison 1st

Rotation:
1. Arrietta
2. Lester
3. Kendricks
4. Lackey
5. Nova

Bullpen:
1. Cahill
2. Edwards Jr.
3. Montgomery
4. Grimm
5. Smith
6. Stropp
7. Rondon

What do you guys think?

It's realistic, but you cannot have a 26-man roster.

Sull do now have a man crush on Logan Morrison? What happened to Nava sull? This is the second team you suggested sign him this offseason, and this one really has no spot for him.

There is only 25 men on the roster (the number 9 spot in the order doesn't count as someone on the roster, that could be any of the pitchers on the roster)

How does Morison have no spot on the Cubs? The only backup 1st baseman they have is Bryant and Beaz or unless they want to bring back Cogland and have him play first so they should bring someone else in to spell those guys more often to keep them healthy. If they didn't trade Vogalbatch I would have him up and not bother with Morison but since they traded him he obviously can't be brought up (for the Cubs at least, the Mariners should bring him up though. )
