Mets get: Evan Gattis and Will Harris

Astros get: Travis d'Arnaud, Brandon Nimmo, and Robert Gsellman

Mets can use Rene Rivera to catch Syndergaard and occasionally Matz which could help reduce Gattis' time behind the plate. Also maybe try him at first or in left as a platoon for Duda/ Bruce/ Granderson/ Conforto. Harris Also upgrades the bullpen to go with Familia and Reed.

Astros get a young "real" catcher in d'Arnaud, who when healthy as shown flashes of real hitting ability. Nimmo has no spot in the Mets outfield glut but could have a spot in Houston where the only guaranteed spot belongs to Springer. And Gsellman could be a big get for Houston's lackluster rotation, and available due to the mets incredible pitching depth.

This is not that bad. I think the Mets demand a little more though. Also there is not really a chance that it happens but its not that bad.

Gattis is a backup catcher, not a full-time guy.

The Mets aren't going to trade Nimmo. And I doubt they deal Gsellman until they know who they have available to them since if people are still not 100% such as Harvey Thor Degrom Matz and Wheeler he could play a huge role next season. Nimmo could be a starter or platoon with Conforto depending on what Cespides does and what they do with Bruce. I could see them going after Gattis but not sure. I think they give d'Anaurd one more season to figure things out before making a decision on him.
