Why would the Cubs want Longoria with Bryant just around the corner?

Why would they make that move, Bryant to LF, Russell to SS and Castro to 2B and Longoria 3B, Soler RF, Rizzo 1B. With a lack of OF talent in the system Bryant makes sense to move to LF.

Brett Jackson is actually now in the Giants system. He was taken in the AAA Rule 5 draft.
