Quantity does not equal quality. And four turds do not equal a good SP.

If that's the best offer San Diego gets for Cashner, they may as well just keep him. This is horrendous.

Wow! (Tigers hang up laughing hysterically lol)

And btw, what kind of a deal do you THINK you can come up with for a pitcher like Cashner who only has one year left on his deal? Ill wait.

And if those four guys are all "turds" than you obviously haven't been watching baseball as long as your name indicates.

You have the Tigers giving up a pitcher who has looked absolutely putrid in his time in the majors (Farmer), a reliever who has little to no value, and a SS who will probably be a utility player at best.

1 year of a pitcher is still of value. Hell, teams give up the universe for 3 months of a pitcher.

For Farmer, as for any pitcher, petco park could help him out if he hasn't had the greatest start to his career yet. He also hasn't had too much service time yet. Not a fan of Machado, I would actually much rather take Jacoby Jones and his 50 game suspension. Also Cashner didn't really show the ability to pitch last year as much as he did throw it hard. He didn't work a strike zone and didn't command his pitches. It was for the most part throw and throw hard and his velocity wasn't all there as it has been either.

I agree that Buck Farmer is putrid, Al has been a good Middle reliever. Mike Gerber has a lot of potential and so does Machado. He has shown a lot of range and a great arm. He probably will never be a great hitter but he will be a .240 to .265 range hitter with a good OBS. His defense is the big value here. But let's understand what you are getting in Cashner. A number 3 or 4 on a good team. His analytics before last year were good and he has one year left on his contract. I say Detroit should say no and try and make a trade for someone under more control. They can't keep giving away prospects for one year contracts.

Totellthetruth, I doubt Detroit ever has to say no. I can't imagine San Diego ever accepts that proposal.

NevergonnabeMLBGM, Cashner still has value. Those guys don't really. Put Cashner in Pittsburgh or KC this coming season, and he wins 15 or so games.
