First of all, like so many on here say quantity doesn't surpass quality or whatever. The first trade the Yankees are giving up to much for 3 players and all their salaries. Second one isn't good either. And while I take it with a grain of salt the A's have said they don't see themselves trading Gray or Reddick.

This makes no sense. ross, kimbrel, and gyorko are all young still. Why would they trade players of their caliber, get a backup catcher who wouldn't start over austin hedges. An outfielder with speed who possibly might not be better long term than a young jankowski. Mateo who is a couple of years away at ss when they need one now and they already have rudy giron among others lined up long term. Also, with them being the Padres, they wouldn't pay all of their salaries if any at all when they could trade at least 2 out of 3 of those guys and get a better return and not pay their salaries.

This would be the best possible trade for the Yankees. not a chance in hell the Padres would do it.
