So they're going to spend 300 million on 2 guys? Get real. They are already almost at the luxury tax.

they can sell of wilson and weaver for $40 million in july 2016.
they can rid of hamilton in 2017 and save another $25 million 
that makes $75 million a year = to $375 million compared to the cost of $300 million. it works.

Weaver and Wilson in July will shave about $15-20M (since they'll already be paid about half their 2016 salary by that point), and that's before they have to take on about 75% of that total.

Hamilton is already gone. They are paying $26M to play for Texas a year until his contract is up. No possible way to clear that money.

So, really, you take it down to about $350-360M. Not much of a shaving of salary. Don't forget arbitration and rising salaries of guys like Simmons and Co.

It isn't happening.

abe, this is not going to happen. the angels would be stretching their financial parameters to sign even one of those guys. both? not going to happen.

I would think Miami would want Santiago. But Shoemaker and a mid prospect for Ozuna makes sense to me and seems fairly fair since both had good years 2 years ago and bad ones last year.
