well. the tigers didn't do squat but they still can do trades thru waivers

well I came up with 2 trades but eitherwont involve a SP to the tigers

Trade 1) Tigers get Brian Matusz from CHC

TIGERS GET:
RP Brian Matusz
PTBNL (IF)
CUBS GET:
RP Gerson Moreno
SP low level prospect
OF mid level prospect

TIGERS add Matusz who was a good RP for the Orioles last year and then was traded and then claimed by 2 teams. he's having a down year but he can be reliable if he can return to form (a neftali Feliz type acquisition like last year) and a player to be named later

CUBS add a young reliever who can be a closer and can be future depth and also get a low level SP prospect and a mid level OF prospect

Trade 2) Tigers get Yasiel Puig from LAD

TIGERS GETS:
OF Yasiel Puig

DODGERS GETS:
SP Calvin Drummond (prospect)
RP Preston Guillmet
IF Corey Jones (prospect)
OF Anthony Gose

TIGERS add Puig who can use Puig for his power and cannon arm and he's under contract for 2 more years

DODGERS add 2 prospects in Drummond and Jones who both can help in the future and guillmet is more of a depth piece and they get gose who is under contract for at least 3 years and all 4 players are from California

This may look undervalued but, they got Reddick and sent Puig down. so his time in LAD is numbered BUT THE DODGERS MUST PUT HIM ON WAIVERS FIRST AND GET TO DET THO.

Cookie, just because you type in all caps, doesn't make it any better.

It's the same nonsense that you always post.

Cookie, They didn't do anything because they don't have a farm system to which they could make a decent trade. The players everyone wanted they weren't willing to give up. Secondly I don't think it would take that much for Matuz, and I really don't think the Cubs will give up on him so soon. Secondly they don't have the assets to get Puig IMO. And please stop with the Capital letters and an essay every time you post.

This is mostly unbelievable because all of these players clearing waivers for all the teams who would have the chance ahead of them is pretty unlikely.

well, there are people out there, saying the exact same thing, the tigers don't have the prospects/ assets to aquire a top guy, but yet they still got Price for smyly, adams and someone else. then traded him to get a better package

plus the porcello for cespedes, wilson and spier

which in turn, we also got maybin, fulmer, labourt and cessa (who ended up getting justin wilson)

as fans, we see other teams not having assets to get someone but that don't mean other teams like the players

i read a article saying, dombrowski was trying to aquire Verlander from the tigers this past offseason and was willing to give up moncada or castillo + others. but the tigers shot that down.

The article was probably in MLB the show since that's the only place where the red doc would trade Castillo and Mancada for verlander.

Cookie, you gave us an article that said the Tigers could get tons of great players for nothing.

Take whatever site you're reading, and block it. It's rotting your brain out.

They conned the Rays in that trade. The Rays were stupid to give Price up for that. Also there is one difference now, they no longer have Dombrowski to pull of magic anymore. THEY HAVE A CRAPPY SYSTEM cookie, get over it. They didn't do anything because they don't have what others want, and what others want they don't want to trade Boyd, Norris, etc. If I have repeat this again it may not be so nice.

Please tell me how you are able to overpay for Brian Matusz who gave up 6 runs just last Sunday, but think the Dodgers would accept that for Puig. The time Matusz is stellar is when he faces David Ortiz (he does own him in his career)
