Astros Offseason Moves with prospect ratings from MLB. com

Sign Ian Desmond for 4 years 100 million with player option for 5th year
Sign Marc Ryzpencynski for 2 years 9 million
Sign Matt Joyce for 2 years 12 million

Trade A. J Reed, David Paulino (No. 4 prospect), Colin Moran (No. 10 prospect) and James Hoyt (No. 16 prospect) to the Rays for Jake Odorizzi.
Trade Michael Feliz and Teoscar Hernandez (No. 10 prospect to the Padres for Derek Norris
Trade Tony Sipp and cash to the Twins for PTBN

The Astros improve their three biggest weaknesses hitting, starting pitching, and catching for prospects and money spent wisely. They replace Rasmus with Desmond, Castro with Norris, Sipp with Ryzpencynski, and give up good prospects to get a good pitcher in Odorizzi.

You are not an Astros fan. They won't give up those prospects and major league talent for average or below talent. Desmond would be a nice sign but I don't see it happening. Total waste of your time.

Way too much for Odorizzi. Way too much money for Rzepcynski. And Norris won't hit leadoff as well as Gurriel won't hit second.

Why would the Twins want an expensive, bad relief pitcher when than have cheap ones who can do the same.

Yeah, I probably should've given up less for Norris, but does the amount they pay Ryzpencynski really matter? I also purposely gave that up for Odorizzi because they want to contend next year at any cost. I don't know sold they are on Reed and his major league performance.
