While it's not clear why Steve Baron would be identified in a deal like this, it's clear the foundation for a deal is there. The Mariners would clearly be the winner of the deal from the outset, however, that can be remedied if Baron is dropped (or still included as a mid/ upper 20's catcher is a throw in) and one or both of Fry/ Yarbrough are included. Without the additions, the Cubs would NOT give up on Baez and would make this deal unless they knew Fowler was coming back after the 2016 season is concluded.

Maybe. I think it's plausible.

So @GeronimoSon are you saying that this would be a fair deal if one of Fry or Yarbrough is included?

This deal might work but I doubt the Cubs do this, maybe instead of Beaz and Almora Jr. They give up Solar and Underwood for Diaz and a low level prospect. Do I think this will happen? No since Diaz has the ability to help the Mariners for many years to come, and I doubt that they trade him after his break out season. But other than that the deal with my little changes makes sence and is fair. I just don't think that the Cubs should trade Beaz since he is having a great year and Zobrist isn't getting any younger and even though they have Happ in the minors Beaz is proven at the big league level. And Almora Jr. Is going to be their next CF after Fowler leaves and I doubt they re sign him again.
